Taxes on land ownership should be high enough to heavily discourage any middlemen. Renting land is literally the same as usury, the person does nothing useful by owning the land, it's even worse than renting a house or apartment, at least that's a physical object that had to be built. The land was always there.
The government should be the sole owner of all land, because the government is tasked with protecting it with physical force. Land should be given out for free, because we are the people that will defend the land in case of an invasion, but it should be taxed for the aforementioned reason, and to pay for the upkeep of the state. Any resource wealth from the ground should be nationalized, no one should be able to privatize the very limited and finite mineral wealth that can only be torn out of the ground once. Mining permits can be lend, at a high cost, to people willing to bring equipment to make use of the mineral wealth, but they can't actually own the minerals while they are still inside the ground.
