I was in it elementary through middle school. High school didn't have the program. I don't remember anything strange about it other than when I was tested in 2nd grade. The questions were puzzle matching, but a lot of them were repeats. I also remember being mad that I was pulled out of class because I was new to the school anyway. I got angry at my mom and told her to stop signing me up for random things.... She seemed confused and said she didn't sign me up for it. California 2003/2004

The Gate program wasn't for "gifted" children. It was for children with learning/thinking styles known to be resistant to school room propaganda. You were identified by the fact that you "played" tests like they were games. You strategized how to beat them instead of absorbing the propaganda inherent within them.

To be fair, I've actually accomplished a lot. I have the profession and level of education you'd expect from someone with my IQ.

Dumb ass parents didn’t let me skip any grades and put me in speech therapy for having a raspy voice and nodules. Aka screaming abuse to my vocal chords. Mid Hudson psych senior year of high school then back to jail. Perfect score on the ged test.

Wasn't GATE where I was from... they called it TAG. Same basic thing, though. Had a super high reading level for my age, was skilled in art and music, got accepted into the program. I still have the letter of recommendation buried in my stuff. Parents were kind of hoarders, kept all my old school shit. I don't completely buy any conspiracy behind it, though. I barely remember anything about it. If anything fucked me up it was going to a Montessori-style school for 3 years before public school. NOW that place was a trip. Any other Montessori fags also in gifted programs? Maybe they're both MKUltra mind games.

My elementary school repeatedly tried to put me in GATE for several years, but my mom kept refusing it. She worked with my siblings and I a lot at home on academic stuff, and felt having me on a different schedule, being pulled out of class all the time would be disruptive to my life. I still have no idea what the program was even for. This was late 80s/early 90s.

Was anyone else involved with a similar program, AIG- Academically Intellectually Gifted? I remember being in it from 1st grade until I moved after 5th grade.

It was a program where about half the school day I was removed from the rest of my class, and placed in a half classroom/half office space with about four other students my age. We solved mathematic equations, and did a lot of IQ style and vocational style tests, despite being taught nothing on the subject. In fact, the one teacher we were assigned to, I literally cannot remember who they were as they did not teach us anything-must not have been part of the program.

I was in a GATE equivalent in elementary school and we just did puzzles and shit.

I was in 2 actual GATE classes in middle school and in one we made little paper models of nuclear power plants and in the other we watched Hitchcock movies and The Outer Limits. Doesn't really seem like some kind of satanic conspiracy to me.

I was tested into gate by observing some specific photographs. I can still visually recall them in my minds-eye.
1. A girl in pink pajamas combing her hair in the mirror. I was asked to spot what was 'wrong' about the photo.
2. A scuba diver underwater near a coral reef. Again asked to explain what was 'wrong' about the photo.

I think the only thing I noticed in the first photo was that the text on her pajama top wasn't backwards in the mirror.

In GATE I recall we got free cookies, orange juice and milk pints and did some computer learning. Our teacher also had a golden retriever named Lucy who was fun to pet. We once went out into the woods to suck up bugs into a cup with a net using straws to observe them. That was all I can recall. One of my peers who was pretty redpilled/intelligent at a young age also was in the program a year ahead of me. Otherwise I eventually left GATE, but can't remember what exactly I learned or why/when.

I also get weird flash backs to the classes whenever I watch zookeepers studying their chimps. The emotions that the chimps display look almost identical to what it felt like doing those tests/classes. It was like my "zookeepers" where trying to convince me to show everyone how smart I was... Who knows maybe my zookeepers just wanted to be the person that discovered the next Einstein sop they could brag to all their friends.

Do any other anons know if Speech Therapists had anything to do with GATE? In 4th and 5th grade I remember getting taken out of class so I could go to “Speech Therapy” for about an hour or so. By then, I was reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, didn’t get why Speech Therapy was necessary.

It doesn't surprise me that her majesties loyal subject would be so concerned with memorizing dates and names. What is royalty, if not a guaranteed mention in every history book from here to kingdom come? When the queen dies, I'll forget her instantly. desu i did speech therapy and gate but the speech therapy didn't get into the psychological reasons driving the speech issue e.g. not saying the wrong thing to self-involved teachers.

I was talking to my mom about it who is an eighth grade teacher and she gave me one of the tests that they use now.

The last question is about whether you agree with the outcome of the results and my answer was, “even if i did why would you expect me to tell the truth.”

I won’t share my score as it isn’t important but my mom guessed my girlfriend would score around 20 points lower. She did.

Now i am wondering which side my mom is on. She has already apologized to me for having me circumcised at birth.
