not because cops are good or bad, but because they're exactly as good or bad as the system they uphold, because they are essential to the functioning of that system, and because they themselves have no control over this system, it's pointless to judge them either favorably or unfavorably. cops are a complete inevitability of civilized society and so the entire question of "cops: good or bad?" is not even an actual question, it doesn't make any fucking sense. if cops = bad, what's the alternative? not having laws to enforce? if cops = good, and they're only good because they enforce policies that you like, why would you give them credit for it? they didn't write the laws
the reality is that they simply are. they're not good or evil, they just try to keep the peace and do what they're told, for better or for worse. if they get in the way of someone trying to enact positive change, then they'll deserve whatever happens to them, if they support that change, then good on them, but without considerations like that it's worthless to even think of them as a class of people distinct from politicians and policymakers

Most of our guys do not like the police either. First, the stale is openly hostile to us and police serves the state. Secondly it's very well known what types of people tend to go into this line of work. Thing is, there is nothing wrong with praising police when it does something good - keeping hoardes of shitskins out of Greece for example. Saying policebad is like saying violence is bad. Everything has it's time and it's place.
