Police have stopped enforcing the law for theft, in fact I haven't seen a cop in a few days and have witnessed bums casually looting grocery stores with no repercussions.
Supply chain is momentarily fine but stores have rationing in effect, such as only 1 dozen eggs 'per family'.

The only cop I saw was on Wednesday guarding some BC Hydro workers tearing up an alley in Chinatown. Asked him what the situation is and he seemed to be encouraging total chaos in the streets in order to force the mayor into a lockdown, saying the police don't have enough protective gear for the chopstick virus ergo won't go into the DTES which is now a free for all.

My company is actually great. Pay is a dollar or two more than our competitors, but they demand more buy-in to their company culture. Lots of growth, we are a top 50 growing company in BC for quite some time now. When I started 3.5 years ago we had 1 building, now we have 4 (2 warehouses). Whereas lots of companies are in flux right now, we are booming because people need food, and food makers need boxes.

Just by being more outspoken regarding changes I've risen rapidly and now run a crew. They are paying for extra operations training for me. Lots of random small benefits that add up. I really can't complain about my company.

We do get lots of students, in fact we prefer younger people since the job can be physical and lots of old guys just can't keep up. Also most of our crew is young so there's a culture fit there. We've had a few people cycle through (people saving cash to eventually go to school again) and we're cool with that, just don't expect to get overtime shifts or what not (reserved for long-time peeps)

Honestly if you want a job to get you by between jobs or to stock up cash, it's great. No part time though.

To sum up:

- Stable and growing
- Lots of random benefits
- Good culture
- Decent pay

Cons
- Physical labor, must be somewhat fit
- If you don't fit in you will be shown the door

Obviously we have other positions, customer service, sales, etc. but I don't know much about how those departments operate.
