A lot of the "problems" that she listed are things that western cartoons have been trying (and failing) to address for years now. The real problem here is that both Japanese and western cartoons often lack competent writers, ones who are able to understand the problems faced by those who come from different backgrounds and who can convey in writing the emotions those people tend to have. There's a reason why the early seasons of the Simpsons are still watched and praised today while the new seasons come and go with hardly anyone even noticing: those early episodes dealt more heavily with the human condition rather than easy one-liners that lack substance. People need to be able to relate to your plots and characters if you want your show to succeed, even if it's a dumb comedy you're writing for.
