Does this run on mobile as well or what systems and OSs are supported, as a previous user asked?

It works on all OS's as long as you have a laptop you can run it. Will port it to Android eventually.

As for hardware requirements, you will need the Sparkfun XBee Explorer Dongle (it acts as the bridge between the radio and your laptop), and an XBee Radio Module (the radio itself).

There are many XBees to choose from. Some even go as far as 64 kilometers, meaning with 25 hops a message could travel 1600 kilometers, the same distance as Frankfurt, Germany to Kiev, Ukraine.
