OP, AK is based, but get some kinda optic. 7.62x39 has all the ballistic capability you'll need for urban combat and the added bonus of actually being usable for punching through car doors and modern built houses unlike 5.56 which, we'll be honest, is going to fragment or expand prematurely to such an extent that it's ineffectual on the other side of your cover.
