Can you get pharmaceutical grade nicotine? Doesn't Japan use it in energy drinks? And obviously companies add it to gum, lozenges, patches, whatever. Why can't you get it as a powder and take it as a pill, or mix it into a drink? I take caffeine pills, doesn't seem like a nicotine pill would be outside the realm of reasonable use.

Nicotine itself isn't enjoyable to me. If I wanted just the kick I would drink 2-3 espressos in a row.
The meditative experience, tastes and aromas of cigars is what is enjoyable. I like snus too. It is the same. The nicotine is nice if you like it, but it is because of the flavors and aromas that people enjoy it.
