First, of all, yes, old people are more affected by it. But that doesn't mean that young people can't get it and that the symptoms will always be mild. There are many italian doctors reporting that it fucks young people up as well, just not as likely.
Second, the problem is not that it's not treatable. It's well treatable if your not old and sick. But thing is, you might probably need treatment and in the worst case a place in the hospital. If too many people get sick the healthcare system will crash and you won't get treatment and no place in the hospital and you'll die. There's reports from Italy that ambulances take 9(!) hours to arrive by now. Many people die before that.
Third, do you know HOW you die if you do? Well, your lungs slowly fill with blood and you 'drown'. Slowly. Just imagine dieing from suffocation, but very slowly. It's horrible and if the ambulance doesn't arrive your relatives will aot around you witnessing your horrible death. Or you will witness theirs. It's painful and plain hell.
Fourth, the death of all those people, boomer or not, fucks the economy big time. BIG time. Italy and germany are already pretty fucked economically amd we're just at the beginning of the pandemic. How will being healthy help you if you have no job, no money, no healthcare?
Fifth, because of all the assholes still not listening to the advice to stay home the government will be forced to put draconian shit in place like total lockdowns and massive surveillance. So if you survive you'll wake up i an Orwellian state. Congratulations, you're fucked.
Sixth, there will be supply shortages. Yes the government says there won't, but there will. All those truck drivers won't easily be replaced by AI. It will take years and years till that's done, even longer in a fucked up economy with shit aupply chains. So, no Amazon, less food, no restaurants (all bankrupt by then) etc.
Seventh, no you won't sit home with vidya and netflix. Government will disallow streaming as soon as the bandwidth is needed for hoem office. Already in discussion in germany. And then the infrastructure will alowly break because noone is maintaining it. So, internet will get slow, drop and then electricity will slowly follow this path
I could go on, but let me just say you have no idea what's coming, and you're naive if you think this will create a great new world.
