I'm very skeptical of this kind of thing. However a study out of Australia showed chloroquine to be effective. A French study conducted in Italy showed chloroquine to be highly effective. South Korea has been using chloroquine and similar drugs for weeks now with good effect.
Note that South Korea still has 91 deaths so far. So this won't save every last person, but it should give a lot of people who would normally die a fighting chance.

It's known that the disease progresses towards the lower lung and the primary end point should've been clinical remission or at least virus concentration from the lower lung.
