I don't do drugs much because I am super high strung and freak out, and I am 6'7 250ish, when I freak out, everybody else freaks out, which just makes shit worse and leads nowhere good.
The last time I took shrooms I had been drinking all night and a friend had an oz in the freezer.
I munched a huge handful, he did too.
He immediately passed out, I went tracerblind and got lost in his unfinished basement in the dark and just laid down in a corner.
I was having a super bad trip and I knew I had hours of it to look forward to.
And then I kept asking myself "well what do you want to do instead of this?" in an attempt to distract myself.
And I just kept asking myself that and trying to answer it, and I realized that I don't want anything but a few simple things. I didn't want my career, I didn't want my current girlfriend, I didn't want my $70 000 truck, I didn't want my mortgage and felt my house to be a burden and a trap I set for myself made out of other people's expectations.
So I sold the house, I sold the truck, I broke up with the girl, I took a chance on the women I did want to be with, I quit being a roughneck, I went back to school at age 37 because what I want to do is be a biologist.
And aside from this corona getting in the way of regular class, I think I'm happy for the first time in my life.
Also when things return to normal again, I will be tracking various bats in a specific area. Funny little coincidence.
