Ugly. - Why is this government so slow to act on anything? It's been ages with no real plan in place.
Isaiah Young
Never I thought I'd be appreciative of my soul sucking call centre job, but here I am. People r getting laid off left and right and I'm busier than ever
Caleb Phillips
Should I buy a bow and arrow and start withdrawing cash from my bank account?
Fuck this racist fucking country. We should be helping everyone that's sick not locking them out of the country. It's absolutely unbelievable that we call ourselves a civilised nation. Makes me absolutely sick.
Australia's government is beholden to central private bankers, not the people. Understand this and you will understand how and why the country functions the way it does.

wife and I have enough for a house deposit but I don't know if this is the right time to buy.
we are currently renting but im dying to get a house so I can lock it down and try to keep us safe when people start to go feral.
what are everyone's thoughts on buying at the moment.
we are in Sydney suburbs.

chinks make me absolutely sick.

For obvious reasons. Who do they think they're fooling with their statements? Obviously repayments aren't going to be affected NOW, the economic shitshow just started and most of your customers are likely casual employees or people with low income, in the coming weeks/months they'll see people default on their accounts and probably go bankrupt.
Levi Peterson
There is a notion that if you act to early then you have to keep all the lock down and quarantine and shit going longer. The longer that sort of shit goes on the more unrest and economic damage you have to deal with.I dunno though, I'm no statistician but it seems to me the earlier you get on that shit the less painful it is.
u didn’t even get digits i just thought the anagram was cool and you were keen
Jonathan Evans
>hey ur pretty are you 12? What sort of approach is that lmao
Isaac Nelson
if you take out a mortgage and house prices fall you are still on the hook for a loan on a house that will never actually reach the same value as the loan you took out.
for example you take out a 500k mortage on a house. House prices fall 20% = you lose 20% of 500k
Grayson Turner
And without us serfs the bankers will suffer too, they can't think that far ahead though. There is a reason all these billionaires are advocating for some sort of temporary UBI now and that's so their businesses don't collapse, alongside their shares due to most of their wealth being tied up in non-liquid forms.

right. I guess it's a gamble, who knows if the prices are gonna fall?
Alexander Collins
I get you want your own place for your family but the time to buy will be more during/after this disaster when prices plummet. If you want to, inspect properties all year (if they are even doing that with Corona) and look for foreclosures from mortgage defaults and save some cunt by swooping in and taking the burden off his hands
they will not rise in this economy. They will either fall or remain the same. You have nothing to lose by waiting it out. It’s likely they will fall when cunts start needing access to money cause they’ve lost their jobs, or can’t find tenants or whatever

How long until the AUD is renamed to the South Pacific Peso?
I wonder how long that will be. right now we feel a bit insecure. we aren't even on a lease at the moment we are just going month to month. the thought of our landlord kicking us out in the thick of this is a bit terrifying.
Carson Martinez
I did think that but i thought it’s a good one cause it’s an intelligence tester
Julian Morgan
Rent prices are already falling.
Henry Morris
Pretty sure we are in a housing bubble, but I haven't researched this and i'm low IQ. I would research about the housing bubble first, and also during a pandemic and extreme uncertainty about the global economy I don't think it's the time to be making any big moves.
For all you know hundreds of thousands of people might die in the coming months freeing up some houses
John Wilson
I'd say wait it out, market is still high

move in with your/her parents, await impending boogaloo, buy house. set for life no doubt, its the australian way
Xavier Martin
Now is not the time to buy. You need to wait, there's uncertainty everywhere. You primary focus should be stable, affordable shelter (in your case, rented I assume), employment and the ability to provide the basic necessities for you and your dependents for at least the nextfour to six months. Then reassess.

its almost like at this point in time in Australia:
become a farmer - even if you suck at farming the tax payers will give you millions of dollars because you suck at it. No skills required.
become a bank - even if you suck at operating your company as a bank and go bankrupt - it's ok because the tax payers will give you billions to keep going for a few more years.
become a politician - because once you give all the money to the bankers and the farmers, you can quit being a polly and get a nice comfy meaningless job in either industry
