The mortality rate doesn't really matter here. The difference with the common flu is that this virus is EXTREMELY contagious. Sooner or later, the entire world will be infected. By that point, the low death rate won't mean shit because you'll get infected anywhere you go and receive a huge viral load from like 3 or 4 infected people. That is enough to kill you or permanently fuck up your lungs.
If that's the case, and you can't get infected again after passing it, I think getting infected now would be much better than avoiding the virus. Because once it catches up with you, and it will, chances are that a whole bunch of people will infect you with it, rather than a single person. The viral load can get pretty nasty. Hell, even a single person with a huge viral load from a group infection can singlehandedly infect you with a massively loaded coronavirus. Age won't matter at that point.
