...

This looks kind of lame. What's it about?

It's a space opera and it's for adults. Wait a couple years.

The legend of the galactic heroes, can you fucking read?

Its complicated.
It examines the trade-offs between democratic and authoritarian systems through a war between two of them.

Long story short, it clearly illustrates how the quality of an authoritarian system varies wildly according to who rules it, while a democratic system has built-in incentives to funnel ALL its rulers towards disastrous decisions.

Is this true?

Sailor Moon. Fuck politics and shit that makes you think - thatz what the library is for - I just want to whack one off to leggy young girls in sailor outfits. Thats freebased.

The show is as anti Yas Forums as it gets.

Explain.

Sure.

Blue boy is a bureaucratic slave who gets fucked over by a false democracy. Blonde boy is literally Hitler.

Captain Harlock

>Protagonist is the descendant of a fucking NAZI PILOT
>best friend is the descendant of a japanese WWII soldier
>Hates space globalism
>Fights against space kikes

A brilliant reflection on autocracies and democracies. Both lead to the inevitable flaw of corruption and apathy for the common man.Autocracy is great in the beginning of the lineage, but gives way to apathy and a aristocratic nobility. Democracy always becomes mob rule and manipulation of the masses for a similar aristocracy. If a combination of the two could be created, it would be a rather advanced system.

The 1978 series is just great as well with those same themes of globalist gov, apathetic pacified populace blind to an alien menace, and the lone Harlock saying fuck you tools I live in freedom under my flag along with any who come aboard.

Galaxy Express 999, from the same creator, is another masterpiece meditation on transhumanism, loneliness, and human tragedy.

I can think of a couple of UC series that were meh to mediocre

LoGH
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
DB & DBZ
Rurouni Kenshin
Hunter X Hunter
Yu Yu Hakusho
Cowboy Bebop
Outlaw Star
Trigun
Samurai Champloo

and My Hero Academia.

Lots of Edgelords will come out of the woodwork to insist that each of these shows is heavily flawed in some way, but you'll notice that they never suggest something better, because their favorite anime sucks dick and so do they.

Star wars should never be compare with logh considering only 3 out of 9 movies were any good.

LoGH is truly based.

Where’s mah kamehameha?

>NGE
>about masculinity

Not at all, it's main overarching themes center about the deleterious effects a broken economy, single parenthood homes, as well as the erosion to the meaning of motherhood and socio economic disparity can have on a growing teenager. While it's main plot centers around an insane man's exploits with Alien technology, who tries to outjew Jews who are practically cyborg computers from the UN and the US. A series about masculinity would be something like Kimetsu no Yaiba, The Tatami Galaxy, Xamd, King Gainer, Eureka Seven, Armored Trooper Votoms, and even Ore no Monogatari.

How is racism based?

How is that racist?

Yang was the best, but part of me thinks he was born on the wrong side.

While it's the core of the issues represented in the series, you're overlooking the context in which this show was written. This show was written during Japan's recession in the 90s due to the popping of the tech bubble. This period of time caused Japs to turn even more reclusive and afraid of social connections than ever before due to the harsh economic realities that comes with forming relationships with people in big cities. It just wasn't the carefree period of the 80s filled with social butterflies who had disposable income overflowing in their pockets.

Moreover the mommy issues are explored much more in depth in the series than the daddy issues. Since the series pretty much hits it over your head that career women are miserable, promiscuous idiots and degenerate. Ritsuko's relationship with her slut of a mother, Shinji's mom and her death, Asuka's mom plus her insanity as well as Msato's awful plus unfulfilling spinster life pretty much are the main vehicles for this. They sacrifice their households, and in Misato plus Ritsuko's case their fertility and chances at even having offspring in the name of faceless corporations or entities that see them as nothing more but pawns. All so they can emulate the men "in power", who make corporations and corporate life their sole determinant identity.

The series is not about masculinity at all, however it does promote some more traditional gender roles.

>a fucking leaf

>muh Bright Slap meme undoes all the feminist cuckoldry in the series and even putting on the pedestal of a literal Pooh in the Looh Shitskin of low caste as one of the most powerful Newtypes

How about, no? If all you see is "women getting slapped, wow so edgy" you have a really shallow understanding of gender power structures and are part of the current problem we have with women.
