The proposal (not yet a bill) has payouts scheduled for April 6th and May 18th, but its not clear if its only for taxpayers or all Americans under a (high) threshold. Some suggest it will be means tested, meaning adjusted for need and family size and/or circumstantial need.
Either way, presently, it would be UP TO $1,000 per check; its not an automatic $2000 for everyone.
