There's a SECOND report out of Australia that came out even before the French study that showed chloroquine was effective against the virus.

The Australian lab had been going through old and largely obsolete medications seeing if they had any effect. They found chloroquine and some ancient AIDS drug that isn't used anymore were both effective at defeating the virus in tests. But these tests weren't in human subjects, just test tube tests I guess.
