anyone lose their job yet?
Anyone lose their job yet?
ur gae
I lost my job back in January at this point i've given up any hope of getting hired
Just pull up them boot straps and keep applying young buck! I hear McDonald’s is always hiring!
My office closed today. I have no idea what to do.
sheeeiiitt honkee, that don't be matterin' no more, trump be givin us $1000 by da month
Yes. 10s of thousands of layoffs in Norway.
sell drugs
Hang in there, anons.
Better days ahead ( we’ll, way ahead)
Was supposed to start a new job monday. Got a call from the manager that they're shutting down temporarily and they will contact me when I can come to work. Spent all my money on canned goods, weapons, etc. just hoping I get trumpbux so I don't get evicted. Don't have enough to make rent without overdrafting my account which I don't want to do but if those trumpbux don't come soon, I'll have to suck it up
If you got fired your job wasn't that important was it
Why didn't you apply to be a Yas Forums janitor a week ago?
Yup. Just got laid off today. Looking forward to my imminent Trumpbucks and my unemployment gibs.
Had 3 mates lost their jobs, one a welder, one works at a bar in a tavern & the other is a tourist guide
Pretty fugged
Unless he's a white guy, bill kristol says he should just die instead.
>implying I was employed
lmao
>and no observable impact on American consumers
I'm a civil servant. Perpetual telework. Absolutely based.
You can always stand in the queues that will now form at supermarket’s on behalf of the well to do and upwardly mobile and get paid to do their shopping and deliver it to them, this will be the “new economy”
Of course not. Most important jobs aren't compensated well. If you want the big bucks you have to do something unimportant.
I worked for a factory that makes parts for GM and Ford.
I left like 2 weeks before it shut down and everyone lost their jobs. then lost 90% of my crypto porfolio on the way down.
I'm still good
And american cars are poorly made shitboxes. Ford was in danger of going under before the wu flu shit even started
I'm a flight dispatcher at a major airport, been told I will be redundant in 2 weeks.
Doors were closed to the customers but we're not laid off yet. Tomorrow I'm going to have the comfiest work day I've ever had, I'm the only one left in the office, simply keeping tabs on any updates from the company lead on my machine.
Imagine being alone in your working place with no one else there and you get paid for doing absolutely nothing else but just for being there.
A good chunk of my income comes from doing mixing and setting up audio for live events. No one being able to gather in groups of more than 10 doesn't equal a super great situation for that kinda stuff. Currently have arranged duties to sound design two podcasts though to balance out the loss of revenue. Likewise I'm doing two composition commissions at the moment: some music to a small fighting game type project, and the original score to a short animation.
Ideally I wanna move away from live sound in general, since that shit is terrible for your ears.
Union construction worker in California here. Suppose to be working 70 hours per week, currently working 0. 75% of our workforce is at home collecting unemployment.
Same - lost my job last month (managing hotels, of all things), and now the industry has collapsed. Looking at standard office jobs now. Good thing I was high enough on the food chain to have my hand in every department.
I'm a supermarket manager, our revenue has increased near 70% this past week, and we are experiencing less waste as customers are clearing out perishables like bread and produce. The problem is we're short staffed and we don't pay enough to attract new workers easily, especially with less Eastern Europeans here after Brexit.
Its times like these which make me glad we have a decent safety net welfare system here.
Buy the dip
I'm a public servant but due to working in the field doing research, about 80% of my work has been pulled due to the pandemic, Still getting paid about 40% of my usual income during all this as they want to keep our workforce ready to get back into gear once the projects can be rolled out again.
I have 5-6 friends who have completely lost their jobs in just the last week alone (Australia). Shit's fucked. Way more to come too.
This economy is a house of cards, the people losing their jobs now proves that none of them had any value to begin with. We'll all be out of jobs at some point once the system collapses completely. For now, the lucky ones still draw paychecks. The unlucky ones will probably commit suicide.
My company makes software for broadcast and video on demand services. Business is booming because all you fags are "working" from home
Nope, my company is an "essential" (lmfao) business, gotta assemble them widgets for boomers.
My job has been declared an "Essential business", they will not be closing on a shelter in place order.
I got hired yesterday. Learn 2 biotech.
got laid off of both jobs so i could go collect un employment till we can put events back on the books
Haha no I am working more hours because of panic buying and a number of associates have family with CV. Fucking bullshit, but here's to this week's 70+ hour workweek!
I work part time as a pharmacy tech so I'm good since my job is considered essential. I cut back to only working every other weekend though about 2 months ago partially because I saw this coming and didn't want to risk being with sick people. I won't leave though because if I do it'll be impossible to get my job back with the coming unemployment rates.
26, never had a job
Suck it wagies
Don't go near that fucking closet if you want to live/don't want bed bugs
I'm currently in flight school, and I uber on the side for bills. I'm double fucked.
You gotta hit the bricks and talk directly to a manager.... HAHAHAHAHA!
t. Boomer
250k in Israel, most are high tech and tourism related, finally this leeches get what they deservs
Feels bad man.
Everyone in restaurants and hotels in New York City plus most freelancers and contract workers.
They. Do. It. For. Free.
>tfw my coat hang up there
My locker isn't big enough for it, unfortunately. If y'all hurtin' for work, feel free to take the Martpill. There's plenty of work here.
this is the security officer job description.
>And american cars are poorly made shitboxes. Ford was in danger of going under before the wu flu shit even started
bullshit- you're a fucking fool
Nope, I work a factory job in NH and they'll probably make us all keep coming in even if we're dying.
Then...why do they do it?
No. Won't either. Bummer. Really wouldn't mind having a couple weeks off
test lab tech at American manufacturer of pumps, here. Still working. Company made 22% net profit, last year. We've got two years of crucial new product development ongoing. I'm good
Proactively laid off from my job. Hopefully they'll hire us back in a couple weeks
smart move - hotels will contract 30% permanently from this.
Autism.
Lost mu job at my uni gym when the school shut down, lost my summer job that I've worked every summer for the last 6 years because the projected revenues under Corona are not even enough to cover current payroll much less bring on part time work in the summer. Fuck knows how I'm paying for school next year. Just gonna keep looking for jobs and I am currently hatching out a bunch of eggs. I sell eggs for $2/dozen but I can sell chicks for $2-3 a chick all day at the local sale and I'm halfway expecting those prices to go up as this drags on. Once my ducks come into lay I could be sitting on some good money but I don't think so. I don't see the market for overpriced show ducks with fuck all meat being very high during this so I probably will only be able to get normal duck prices for them if I can sell them at all. I will be okay but it's going to be tight for a while.
25% gone here. IT were the first against the wall, shitty directors second
Got laid off yesterday.
