Food production, as far as I understand, isn't really affected as of now, especially in the US. It's just people going bonkers because panic; apparently it's a good idea to shut your brain off. And it depends on where you are right now. Here in Colorado, after the initial "shock", I expect things to quiet down in the next few days, however the next panic wave will come when they announce further lockdowns. Best time for food shopping is going to be in the next two days, either very early or very late (when all the boomers are asleep). With the coming winter storm, even more people might stay home.

I just went grocery shopping at the supermarket today about an hour ago. Wasn't crowded whatsoever. The only thing that was out-of-place was the complete lack of all raw chicken in the meat department. But there was still plenty of beef and pork and the seafood section was fine.
