What's the danger of a bank run when every place takes plastic?
>what does the establishment know?
That they're going to start charging negative interest rates to force people to "invest", which will naturally instead make everyone pull their money out of the banks before their wealth can be seized.
fractionary reserve
What

This explains pretty well
the banks don't actually hold all the money deposited into them. a bank run would collapse the financial system
Pull your market accounts, but leave money in the bank. If the Fed stops pumping you will have gained money instead of lost it.
Fictional* Reserve. FTFY.
I fixed the typo.
I already did :)
They need to shut the fuck up about bank runs. You start mentioning it and it will end up like Toilet Paper
Oh shid, man
Are there about to be negative interest rates in usa?
If so, take it all out and buy as much firepower as you can
Banks don't keep nearly the amount of cash on hand as they have deposited in their accounts. People withdraw their accounts in massive numbers, they run out of cash, people freak out and go to withdraw their cash too. It's like the toilet paper. People are buying way more because it's out, so it stays out. Long term does nothing because the US mints just print more and ship more paper money to banks and it's eventually fine, but short term people have less access to cash.
You give the bank $100 of your earned dollars. The bank immediately loans that $100 to various people, often quadrupling or more the investments made on deposits, effectively loaning money they don't have. They profit this way unless you pull your money out.
My bank already set a fee on withdrawing.
This exactly. It's simply media induced panic. Again.
All money in a bank under 100k is federally insured anyway.
brb visiting the closest ATM
>FDIC insurance
At best they print the lost money causing massive hyper-inflation.
At best.
THERES NOT ENOUGH PAPER FOR ALL YOUR CREDITS, GOY!
Which trump or the fed has already temporarily suspended.
LET'S GOOOOOO
LET'S RUN THIS KIKE MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!
Honestly u people laugh at toilet paper hoarders, but u really dont have enough toilet paper yourselves. The average person uses 1 roll per day. If u have a family of 4, that's 28 rolls a week. Over 100 a month. TP rolls will be worth their weight in gold in a few months, because everyone needs it
>Why US citizens still trust the media is beyond me?

jokes on you. I HAVE NO MONEY AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHHAAH

So, my actions are finally having the desired effect. Soon...soon the world shall collapse.
No one seems to understand this.
And a run on the banks is any better?
jokes on you im already broke. funny part is that corona might be the best thing to ever happen to me. my living standard is going through the roof right now, years as a NEET are finally paying off. i know the corona is tragic for a bunch of people and that many will die but before all this people were dying of other stuff and i never benefited. it's like they died for nothing at all.
why the fuck did they make an article on this? welp, now it's time to panic and get muh money
TWO
NOTHIN WRONG WITH ME
yeah fuck that, as soon as my check goes in on Friday, I'm pulling it all. fuck you, fuck the kikes, fuck jannies, and fuck the chinks.
TAKE THE MONEY OUT!!!!! CRASH THIS BITCH
vanguard's holding fund pays way more than any bank savings interest rate. dont have to buy any securities, just put it in your investment holding account
He's right, your cash isn't going to go away. It may be worth less, but taking out in cash form isn't going to change that.
The world will know Argentinian 2001 crisis in bigger scale.
Prepare your anus.
is my paper money even going to be worth anything tho?
Don't touch cash during a coronavirus outbreak, it'll just get you infected.
y-y-you mean they don't have all my money there for me to pick up when i need it?
>That they're going to start charging negative interest rates to force people to "invest", which will naturally instead make everyone pull their money out of the banks before their wealth can be seized.
This is exactly it. The next step is negative interest rates or savings penalties.
there was nothing in the announcement about the move to a zero reserve regime about it being "temporary". many major western countries already use one.
nigga, if you go in and ask for more than like 6 grand of YOUR money, they're going to tell you to come back tomorrow. Banks don't actually hold cash. Maybe 10-20k on hand at a time.
>
Thats in behalf of the same banks, not the users, anyways they are going to implode and I prefer to have my money with me instead of watching of burning inside a bank,
>My bank already set a fee on withdrawing.
shitty bank.
My 401k is down to -26% rate of return as of this morning, and my only option to take any of it out requires me paying John Hancock 6% to loan me my own fucking money. Im glad this shit is falling apart, fuck bankers and fuck jews.
take out all your fucking money now
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH MY MONEY IN YOUR HOUSE, FRED?!?
>you mean they don't have all my money there for me to pick up when i need it?
You're thinking of this place all wrong. As if I had the money back in a safe. The money's not here. Your money's in Changs's house...right next to yours. And in the Goldstein house, and Mrs. Pajeet's house, and a hundred others.
Too late
Reminder that money can get infected with corona so youre better off by being a good goy and leaving it in the bank
Joke's on them, I don't even have $20 in my bank account
dont take your cash out of the bank goy everything is fine
THREE
NOTHIN WRONG WITH ME
See, you laughed at toilet paper hoarders. You seem to forget that the average person uses a roll a day, for a family of 5, thats 30 rolls a week 1560 rolls a year. Since corona virus is going to be around for a minimum of 18 months, you're fucked. I hope you like using a towel because we aren't sharing. And if you come raiding, I dare you. FROM. MY. COLD. DEAD. HANDS.
takes me like 2 fkn months to use a roll
>>You're thinking of this place all wrong. As if I had the money back in a safe. The money's not here

What the hell are you doing with my money in your house, Fred?
Keeping huge stacks is a problem during physical robbery.
Leave most of your money in the bank & just keep a few hundred small bills.
Cause that way if you get raided, you can buy shit with your cards or phone or whatever.
They might do a currency reset where paper is worth less than the digits in your bank
It means they lent out way more money than they actually have. If we all took our money out of the bank then the system would collapse. But the system makes everybody rich as hell so play along. Make interest, invest in things.
Sounds like a great time to close your account
I work at a big bank, not going to say which one, and this has already happened. We have absolutely no money atm. Things look pretty bad but we should be getting a lot more this week and next. There are millions of dollars in reserve for us to hand out. Already starting to see people deposit money back into their accounts cause they have auto payments for their bills LOL!! This will all blow over in a couple weeks and I’ll have to spend all of my time packaging money to ship out. Shame on the hysterical boomers for wrecking us. I've started to tell people they can’t eat their money so no use having it in physical form. Might as well spend it.
