I'm in Sydney Australia & the hoards of Chinese (specifically Chinese) people here descended on our stores, warehouses, shops, pharmacists, shopping centers and markets.... buying up all the masks, hand sanitizers, laser thermometers, toilet paper & tissues.This was December 2019 to February 2020. I was watching the news unfold in China and went out to buy a mask for each member of my family (only one per customer so that was a lot of trips) and then sanitiser etc. So I prepped by mid February.
Now the virus descends on Australia. But there's no longer any toilet paper, face masks are gone. No sanitizer. Ridiculous price gouging. Today desperate idiots started stampedes, stepping on children, stabbing employees, stealing, scraping the shelves bare.
This afternoon locals in every district took all the meats. Even the petfood (elderly home chefs?). It's fucked. Dog food & cat food is gone. Fuck this. Our Prime Minister gave a speech scolding Aussies for hoarding. Last week he said we faced $50,000 fines for breaking future quarantines. Hence the hoarding.
Tonight, just minutes ago, I heard from three friends in country towns. They said Chinese were turning up in minibuses and larger vehicles in the country towns, far from Sydney. They took all the groceries. I was told they hit the towns of Bathurst, Orange and Blayney.
Q: What the FUCK is it with these Chinese? Other Asians seem nice enough. But we can't live like this without food. The cunts are even sending some of their loot back to family in China in BULK. Aussies are genuinely frightened. Cops are arresting anyone for even verbally chastising others. It's getting serious now. Anyone else seeing this?
Chinese man buying ALL the N95 Masks from the shelves at one of the local Bunnings Hardware stores in Sydney before the panic hit. They visited EVERY single hardware store and bought ALL the masks, regardless of their purpose or cost.
This occurred when Australians had already used their own masks for the terrible Bushfire smoke that filled our cities for months. Our lungs are fucked from the smoke that lingered in our homes for weeks on end. Aussies didn't think the problems in China with a "strange Flu" that appeared in Hong Kong would come around the entire world to get them. I was one of the lucky ones who was able to slowly create a safety stash. My friends and family didn't listen but the UN refused to declare a pandemic until Monday last.
But those with keen eyes noticed massive rushes on our Pharmacies early on. I spoke to a Chemist who was in tears in February because he said all his orders for fresh masks had been refunded and his new orders cancelled from China. He knew this thing was coming. Some of us thought the government would release masks from our national stockpile. They released 1 million masks but those only went to doctors and surgeons.
The Chinese have now started to scrape the shelves bare here now. They're buying up everything that's left and they've venturing out in groups to distant towns in the bush or mountains to get the shelf goods there. Now the country folk are unable to buy goods.

Supply shipments are still going on so emptying of shelves will be restocked short of produce with small production like milk powder.

No restrictions existed until the stock was gone and the reorders were refunded from China. When stores realized no more were coming, they immediately locked down scarce item but ONLY after the government advised them to stop selling in bulk.

I don't understand how everybody makes a single roll of toilet paper last so long. I poop at least four times a day, and I need a roll of toilet paper every time. First, I take a bunch of TP to layer the toilet seat so my butt doesn't get cold. Secondly, I place a wad of TP into the toilet bowl so that the water doesn't splash up. Thirdly, I can't poop all at once, so I go through multiple stages of pooping out a little nugget, and wiping everytime I do so. Once I'm empty, I take the rest of the TP left on the roll and cover up my poop, so that I can ensure that everything flushes properly. I can't be the only one who does this, right?
