Governor is making his statements and we are at "suggested lockdown" level. Not sure how forced a lot of this but the majority is listening. No gatherings of more than 10, no dine-in, casinos, etc are all closed.

Ultimately I dont like this. I am fine with isolation for a couple weeks but the indefinite and june time frames for lockdowns are getting me. I dont see how reasonable it is to stop everything for months when you only have 10 cases that have all been dealt with accordingly. I would hope we reopen if more cases are not popping up in the next 2 weeks but hey. I understand that Philly is another story but my Pittsburgh is only a fraction of the size.

Without price controls it will never work; in the past economic stimulus packages directed at the populous have always failed for three main reasons:

1) People use it to pay off dept, which does not help the economy at all
2) Anticipating the influx, most consumer goods see price hikes (slightly, but it largely negates the net effect)
3) People sit on it, thinking it may be more valuable to have the liquid asset.

Literally the dumbest idea in the world is a single-time stimulus, and is up there with printing more money. IDK who suggested it, but they flunked macroeconomics.

Western WV here, so far so good only thing I've noticed is shortages in grocery stores and that's about it. Although it could get a lot worse considering I think WV only has 500 test kits for the virus so yeah that could get real bad. The one case we've had so far has been handled properly.

Philly here, with family in local care facilities and big name city-hospitals. Every hospital is prepping to help with surge including the cancer centers. Elect surgeries getting pushed, and they are trying to fast track discharges for all non respiratory illnesses to get them out. EMS and Fire radios are up 50-100% in call rates in some counties, and 100% all of them are respiratory emergency, cardiac emergency, seizures, or falls.

I've only been out of the house a few times, but seems like most people aren't taking proper precautions to avoid infection while in public. That said, there are many bare aisles in grocery stores. Could only find fucking TP in one place, and they had a two-per-customer policy in place. Haven't seen any hand sanitizer, anywhere, in more than a week.
I'm just a college student, so after this week's planned spring break is over, we go to online courses. All of my friends working programming or teaching have been moved to online-only. I also know a guy in customer service who is working from home.
There's effort to open drive-thru Covid 19 testing sites, but I've paid little attention to that.
Lots of government services/buildings are closing. Bars, gyms, movie theaters are all closed, by order of the state; part of an agreed-upon policy with NJ and NY.
