Just wanted to let you know that as of yesterday evening, shortly before my next nightshift, i was placed in quarantine. On Thursday last week i had contact with a coworker who developed symptoms on Sunday and got tested positive for the virus Monday. Got a call from my head of department to stay home for the next two weeks. Testing is not needed if i dont develop symptoms. I was supposed to do another nightshift, now i am awake, abusing the shit out of my netflix account. I'm feeling fine, no symptoms whatsoever but i am completely out of the loop now and wont be able to give you that many insider infos now. Last thing i heard that we had our first more severe case on Tuesday. He's on the ICU now. Cant tell anything about treatment tho but last thing i heard was that he was not on ventilation. I am in contact with my coworker/friends but they are too busy in the ER and cant really follow up on patients once they've been transferred to a ward. I still try to get as many inside infos as i can but it will all be second hand without me being able to verify. People are coming in droves to our hospital to get screened and we've started to focus on at risk patients and send the ones without or only very mild symptoms back home. The strain on our capacities and resources is already palpable

Nope, this is the correct approach. You may carry the virus with no symptoms, that is true but that is the reason why i am in quarantine. No contact for two weeks and if i stay symptomfree i should be fine. Testing without symptoms is useless and wastes resources. As long as i show no symptoms i can just stay home and sit it out. If i do, i'll get tested. If i were to go down to the hospital and get tested with no symptoms i just put my self at risk of actually contracting it there. Also with medical testing, you always need to know what you actually want to screen for and what consequences you will take from the results. As long as i have no symptoms, i stay home for two weeks so abtest is not necessary. If i only develop mild symptoms i migjt just stay home and sit it out, danger of spreading it at the hospital is real and unnecessary if it stays mild. If i worsen a lot and have to get hospitalized they'll test me anyways so we'll know by then. Until then i avoid meeting people and spare the resoirces for people more in need.
Also i am not a suspected case. I only had contact with someone who tested positive days after i had contact with him. Isolating everyone i had contact with from then on is also useless and too much as long as i stay symptomfree

I only prepped a little. I got enough for around ten days. I actually planned on getting food at the hospital at work. They provide wellnfornus since we were working overtime, so last week when not on nightshift i had breakfast and lunch at the hospital an took home some sandwiches n shiet from our store at the hospital to save my resources at home. Delivery services are still operating so i'll use mostly outside food before tapping my reserves.
Only thing i truly wished i had prepped for though is a gun. Seeing how irrational people acted the last weeks i strongly need something for defence against lunatics trying to murder me for toilet paper. I wanted to apply for a loicense this week but now i am in lock down.

I've been in self-isolation for 5 days now with a fever every night and quite debilitating fatigue during the day. I'm 24 and suffer from Rhematoid Arthritis, how at risk do you think I am? I haven't taken my immune suppressants or had a flare up in a long time, and my last test results seemed promising (ESR 2, CRP less than 1).
I also still have some hydroxychloroquine left over and I've seen quite a few things published about its effectiveness in treating corona.
