everything is pretty quiet all day. I'm loving it.

my town announced today they are closing all non-essential stores/businesses till April 2nd. We have alot of older population so kinda makes sense I guess.

Fewer people out. I was the only one that was getting carryout from a restauraunt today.
Also found out my college is going online rest of the semester

Most of us got introduced to a system where you only work 10% and get paid 80%, which means that Im staying at home and get paid for the next month with mostly free time (homeoffice)

You can go shopping anytime for food, meds and may even go out for a walk or jog, but youre asked to keep that to an absolute minimum. Youngsters around 18y have to help out in the system for free, teens are doing homeschooling and currently helping elderly neighbors by getting their groceries, avoiding contact at the doorstep when delivering.

Jobs that are necessary atm (nurse, grocery store workers) have to work the hardest atm and are promised a reward from the state, I feel bad for small shops though, a lot of them are getting hit hard financially and most likely wont make it. Everybody is avoiding to kick people out and the state is struggling to keep people in their jobs, but people do try their best, system is preparing everything for the big wave of cases that have to be treated that is yet to come

We do better than expected so far, Im just glad that Im going to keep my job

I live in Seattle. Grocery stores are one of the only places that are staying open but they're so negligent that it's going to get people killed. Fred Meyer is the worst offender I've heard about. Their workers are quitting and those who stay are being denied breaks during extra long shifts. They're not limiting how many people can enter or enforcing social distancing. I'm surprised the state hasn't moved in to make them get their shit together. The state either isn't keeping track of big businesses or has accepted the fact that millions will die regardless of if we act.

Lockdown starts in less than 5 hours, but if you read the rules clearly, you can go outside if you're alone/with two people, indefinitely.

Southern California. Went out for the gym this morning, noticed that the streets were bare and eerily quiet. Door locked. Later found out that ALL of California is on full lockdown. All restaurants, bars, gyms, stores. Only exceptions being some supermarkets and hospitals.

Kind of. NJ here, most non-essential stores and business are shuttered for at least two weeks. Restaurants are limited to take out only. Liqour stores are still open though, of course. The Governor is strongly recommending (but not enforcing) people stay indoors from 8pm-5am. Pretty sure the National Guard was deployed recently too.

All government places, grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants are still open. Rests are drivethrough or delivery only. Stores are 1 per customer for TP, wipes, milk, bread, eggs and paper towels. If stores are open they close at 7pm. All doctor offices are closed, to go to the hospital you have to call ahead or you won't be let in. Only video calls allowed for doctors. PA here.

Kansas City here, it's kind of weird but still relatively normal. Mayor put a ban on gatherings of over 10 people, bars and restaurants are mostly closed. Amount of traffic on the road is comparable to a very snowy day. Grocery stores are largely okay with the exception of toilet paper. Every time I've gone they've had plenty of meat and chicken and eggs and milk. It is probably half as stocked as normal but nothing is bare except for toilet paper.

There is higher police activity. Apparently there was a shooting at my local grocery store (in the city, not suburbs, prob typical nig shit).

Pittsburgh here. Non-essential businesses closed. No one is really out especially after 10 or 11. It's more surreal than Christmas or Thanksgiving really to see very little traffic and mostly everything closed.

I’m in Portland. The city is slow as fuck, especially now that the bars and restaurants are closed. I live next to one of the biggest grocery stores in the city and even they weren’t busy at all today. Mine isn't, but even if it was it wouldn't matter. My job is considered an essential business (I work in a pharmacy) so I gotta go no matter what. Those of us who are exempt from shelter-in-place orders should be given more than just a $1000 cheque. Especially first responders; they seem to get fucked over on the regular.
