I was just thinking and I remembered my whole family got sick back around Christmas last year. Obviously this was well before Corona-chan, but the symptoms were similar and flu-like. Dry cough, high fever, pneumonia including sputum. The major difference between my illness and common symptoms of corona were cold and flu-like nasal congestion.
It lasted about 2+ weeks, first week it got really bad to the point I had severe chills in bed for 2 days straight, moderate amount of nasal congestion. Then I felt better for about 2-3 days and then it came back and I felt like shit for another week straight with heavy coughing and fever that came and went most days. It was probably the flu, and I didn't get a flu shot this year, only my dad did because he works in a hospital and he got incredibly sick from it as well.
It's 99.9% likely it was the flu, not related to Corona at all, I just find it odd looking back on that how sick my entire family (living in same house) got in the same timeframe and this outbreak supposedly began around late December last year.
