Here is the fundamental reason the Chinese coronavirus WILL NOT STOP spreading anytime soon on a global scale. Previous outbreaks of viruses, such as the SARS outbreak, spread mainly through people who showed visible symptoms and also spread very inefficiently.
The Chinese coronavirus, on the other hand, is spread very efficiently, and more importantly, has a large number of cases that are originally spread from people who have the virus but show NO symptoms. This means it becomes very hard to isolate them in the first place, thus reducing the likelihood of a stop to the outbreak.
This will NOT STOP until a vaccine is approved. Keep in mind 18 months for a vaccine is considered the minimum amount of time and the average time is likely a few years. This country will be suffering the worst possible economy for the next few years.
Unironically, it's over. Get out of the markets immediately and start looking for other ways to make money. 20% of you will be out of a job, if not many, many more people. This will be worse than the great depression.
