How Reaganites perceive themselves don't necessarily line up with the impacts of Reagan's actual policies. I agree that Reagan basically continued and exacerbated a system of socialism for the rich and capitalism for everybody else, defrauding the public to help major corporations. The problem with "Reaganite conservatives" is the latter half, conservative, they are more than happy to conserve and preserve the "Legacy" they inherit, meaning whenever it pushes three steps left, they push one step right and declare it a victory. Being capitalistic to this degree is radical, revolutionary (Not in the commie way), and most certainly not conservative in any part of the world, because it wishes to drag the policy far and away from anything anyone was born into at this point in time. Not themselves, their parents, or their grandparents. It does not want to conserve, it wants to usurp and reform.
