>A Belgian doctor working to battle the coronavirus says he’s treated several seriously ill young patients — and their lung scans were “nothing short of terrifying,” according to reports.
Dr. Ignace Demeyer, who works at a hospital in Aalst, said an increasing number of people between the ages of 30 and 50 have presented with severe symptoms, despite having “blank medical records” that show no underlying conditions that would make them high-risk, the Brussels Times reported.
He said CT scans indicated they were suffering from severe lung damage.

Any damage to the new lung or your own surrounding tissue is counted as a "danger signal" by your immune system and could make it react to the donor tissue (usually leads to catastrophic rejection).

If on immunosuppressants after transplantation? Yeah, likely ... though I would not rule out that antibodies from previous infection might save you. They mostly suppress cytotoxic reaction after transplantation ("killer cells" which remove both infected body cells and any cell that looks foreign or weird) ... once the virus can establish infection you are mostly helpless. Yet, antibodies from previous infection might block the virus from even infecting anything at all ... emphasis being on MIGHT. Can't predict that, it is different with every virus.
