I agree. For the most part, today's wealthy people are exploiting a system that was designed to favor wealth. A large bank account today is the equivalent of muscle 1000 years ago. No being evil simply means you are going against what society deems as good and just, because of your own justification you believe you are right and good, evil is just another good person on the other side.

since this is a rick and morty thread, here's a really pretentious answer:

high intelligence and the evolution of consciousness is largely predicated on learning how things work and then utilizing them to your advantage. In a primitive sense that means what plants are edible and what animals you can kill and with what. In an agrarian sense it means understanding how to domesticate livestock- how to control inferior consciousness.

And on a bigger more modern level, it means how to control or at least direct large amounts of human consciousness. That's the real skillset of people with power- the combination of gaining supporters through propaganda and personal self-interest of people that work for and do business with you, and the dissuading of competitors through propaganda, use of force, information warfare, etc. The highest levels of abstract intelligence and control are basically predatory in nature, like a hawk sees a bunny as a resource it can predict and utilize, people, social movements, emotional states, vices, hopes, fears- are used for the enrichment of large-scale institutions and individuals. And of course this will be perceived as evil in the same sense any prey would feel it's predators are. And this balance of power IS fucked up and dysfunctional long-term the way it is now- even if you view morality as artificial covering over a reality of "might makes right", any ecosystem is vulnerable to collapse if the relationship between predators and prey becomes too unbalanced.

But yeah, high intelligence basically gives a groundwork for higher-tier predatory behavior, if you had to classify humans as a species we are far more predatory than anything else. Because we don't just eat your meat, we grow you in controlled environments, take your labor, your skin, your bones, compounds produced by your body, etc. And isn't this utilization without concern the essence of evil underlying most practices people call evil?

Hitler could never have won, it was virtually impossible. The Axis never had the production capacity to take on the Allies, let alone the Allies and the Comintern. He should have bided his time. Germany could have been a great power today if Hitler focused on anti-communist diplomacy and built up the necessary industry in Germany, instead of trying to use war as a shortcut to everything.
