To be fair it probably was a based alternative to going to college, and I was fed that meme. Now I'm in the trades with no college degree and I barely keep my head above water with the cost of living around here. Looking for something new, and unfortunately it looks like college is it.

Dude. I have been sucked into construction for 20yrs by dint of simply needing work. Ran my own business for 8yrs. The highs and lows are off the charts, unless you've lived it it is very difficult to explain. I know all you big-brained fucks think you can predict the future. Good fucking luck. At my peak, I pulled in $40,000 in one day. At my lowest, I couldn't pay my fucking rent. You absolutely will run into complete regards (I once paid one of my employees inside a fucking psyche ward, because he tried to kill himself). Life is going to throw you curve balls like you wouldn't fucking believe, but being the guy who runs a jobsite, is both terrifying and gets you high as fuck.
