Why could that be so ?

Coronaviruses alter so quickly and effectively that this "specific" mutation would surely arise after a few viral generations (a few fucking hours) after the vaccine is widely disseminated. The problem isn't that the vaccine won't ever work, but that it would only work for a very short amount of time before we killed an old strain, only to make a much worse strain. The rate and effectiveness at which even typical viruses can overcome evolutionary difficulties is fucking horrifying.
