But calculating death rates by saying "OH, 14/7000 INFECTED, DEATH RATES ARE SO LOW" is retarded, ESPECIALLY when you have the recovery/death rate numbers RIGHT FUCKING THERE. Under that logic, every single person in the world could be infected with a disease that 100% kills them in three days, and you'd say "Oh look, the death rate is 0%! LOL NOTHINGBURGER" right up until everyone dropped dead.

You want to look at deaths/total cases (which will underestimate the true lethality rate dramatically) and the deaths/recoveries (which will overestimate the lethality rate dramatically.) But over time, these two numbers will converge onto what is the true lethality rate for the disease, which, I promise you, will be between 1 and 7% for Germany like it has been for every other country where we have enough data for a long enough time to see how it converges. I predict Germany's will be on the lower end for Western countries, between 1 and 2 percent, but not as low as Asian countries that acted quickly.
