You should start using some of the stores to understand what meals are going to look like and what supplies you will run out of first.
I started this last week and was able to augment my stash this week while stores are still partially working.

They probably put the lowest quality ones they can in hot sauce or mustard, since it masks the fishy taste.

Not a prepper but I've got a ton of sardines, because I enjoy them. Two tins of sardines can pretty much be a meal if shit does get truly bad, which I don't expect it to.
