HUGE CORONA MUTATION IN BRAZIL

Wasn't somebody concerned about this virus mutating to become more lethal inside a certain Brazilian bat population? Is it time to panic Yas Forums?

Kill yourself

The average human offspring has countless mutations, viruses do also. That doesn't mean it's becoming more dangerous. Mutations are equally beneficial and maladapted. Fuck off with your tinfoil paranoia yankee.

>Mutations are equally beneficial and maladapted.
Actually mutations are completely random and most configurations produce either no result, or detrimental effects to the organism, in this case the virus. It is the rare mutation that benefits an organism, but those are the ones we're aware of because the beneficial ones by definition help the organism survive and reproduce.

What's the website?

We need more info OP

There's the graph I'm looking at, it's being updated as they log new sequences.

This is what we're worried about between this and another type of coronavirus that lives in a certain Brazilian bat population.

I'll see if I can find the paper that mentioned it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
You think you will have horizontal gene transfer between huehues and bat coronaviruses??

I'm pretty sure you mean recombination, not transduction.

This is the worst shit, this isn’t just a boomer remover anymore then

We know it's well within SARS-CoV-2's ability to jump between humans and bats. The gene sequences are highly similar. All it has to do is infect a bat that's also infected with their endemic corona strain. Then, if it jumps back, gain of function has a potential to occur from horizontal gene transfer.

This user is correct, thank you.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK8439/

Thing with viruses is that usually mutate to something less lethal. And the reason they do is because if it gets too lethal, it won't spread, and albeit viruses aren't alive per se, they still want to multiply as much as possible.

So if it ends up becoming a very lethal strain, it won't survive for long, especially not with all the lockdown measures that's been taken all around the world.

This. Brazilian bats will save the world.

thankfully your country will be killing you off shortly, based on the state of infection currently gripping your tiny pacifist shithole

Low iq zika bats

>Brazilian bats will save the world
i'm never been so sad

If most viral spread still happens asymptomatically during the incubation phase, there isn't going to be strong selective pressure against eventual lethality. Nobody seems to be mentioning it but this bitch has the potential to be very stubborn unless we discover and deploy earlier testing methods.

tldr; she doesn't have to care about what happens to you after you coof

what if it hits the Brazilian favelas? What's the end game there?

user mentions brazil in his posts. Not sure if this is what you mean?

Tell me someone screencapped the whistleblowing on this.

UK will be annihilated though.

The borders are open and have been for 70 years.

There is no Herd...

That's the larp that predicted Italy right?

Why the fuck does everything mutate once it reaches Brazil

Attached: 1584283248001.jpg (770x960, 161.7K)

That's what I'm saying, just in a shorter manner. Mutation are random, equally likely to benefit or to harm the mutatee. We only recognize the hugely beneficial ones as the draw attention. Despite the occasional hugely beneficial mutation, an equally huge maladapted mutation is just as likely. It's only over long periods of time when the mutations start to matter as a result of survival of the fittest.

so the only people who have to fear the lethal recombination with brazilian bats are brazilians

you forgot the part these are kamikaze virus, they don't give a fuck

>HUGE CORONA MUTATION IN BRAZIL
Whoa! Almost 10 nucleotides difference.
That represent a huge mutation of less than 0.033% of its genome.
And it is probably synonymous...

Probably start the looting now!

IT’S OVER

>AUSTRALIAN SCIENTISTS FIND CURE FOR CORONA CHAN

news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/coronavirus-australia-queensland-researchers-find-cure-want-drug-trial/news-story/93e7656da0cff4fc4d2c5e51706accb5

>A team of Australian researchers say they’ve found a cure for the novel coronavirus and hope to have patients enrolled in a nationwide trial by the end of the month.

>University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research director Professor David Paterson told news.com.au today they have seen two drugs used to treat other conditions wipe out the virus in test tubes.

>He said one of the medications, given to some of the first people to test positive for COVID-19 in Australia, had already resulted in “disappearance of the virus” and complete recovery from the infection.

>One of the two medications is a HIV drug, which has been superseded by “newer generation” HIV drugs, and the other is an anti-malaria drug called chloroquine which is rarely used and “kept on the shelf now” due to resistance to malaria.

>“Our doctors were very, very surprised that a HIV drug could actually work against the novel coronavirus and there was a bit of scepticism,” he said.

>“That first wave of Chinese patients we had (in Australia), they all did very, very well when they were treated with the HIV drug.

>“That’s reassuring … that we’re onto something really good here

HAPPENING CANCELLED

That’s not what you’re saying though. The vast majority of mutations are silent. They don’t do anything at all.

You forgot the part of natural selection. Keep thinking idiotically like that and you will have a kamikaze bloodline.

If a virologyfag can tell me something that size is a nothingburger that's great. We should still be watching for any difference spikes coming out of Brazil regardless.

...wtf, what a brain fuck!

>I am retarded and I do not even know it
okay.

better start digging to see who's behind the professor and university

Whistleblowing? You fuckers didn't know this would happen?

maladaptive mutations by the very nature of evolution do not get passed on...

>Amerimutt calling Switzerland a shithole
B R U H

It is what I am saying, get your mind out of the gutter sir. Equally likely to be good or bad doesn't mean all will be either bad or good. Of course the majority will be neutral, that's why called the ones that make a difference "occasional".

they wont quarantine effectively, shit will spread fast, healthcare(which is already shit) will get extremely overwhelmed and we will se a lot of favelados without their grandmas and grandpas i suppose

>implying i was talking serious
>implying i want children in this absolute fucked reality

Yes, we should keep going on with the sequencing.
It is very useful to see how the virus is spreading.
After, mutation are normal and it is pointless to extrapolate at this time.

I'm serious here. If you assholes had played Plague Inc (yeah, I know, video game HA HA) you would have had a better understanding on how this would play out from the start. It's a close-enough simulation even thought it seems simple. Use your brainthink skill here. Garner some common sense about this kind of stuff and then start doing some real research if you really want to stand a chance.

WOW THIS user SOUNDS LIKE AN IDIOT. Whatever. Just do it. Study. Figure it out.

If the long tail of viral shedding over time is insignificant anyway, we won't see the kind of selective pressure you're talking about.

I am not implying you WANT anything, just saying how it is.

Attached: 1583774603213.webm (542x406, 2.64M)

thing is were surprisingly good with research of these things, i do believe that if this mutation actually happens and spreads we will find it quickly, its just a matter of the retarded government doing something about it that im less certain

Whether the virus is real or not, this is all an orchestrated narrative. It 'mutating' in Brazil is an applause sign coming on for the studio audience, except the sign reads 'panic'.

If you have a large population, then there are going to be more mutations.
because theres more of them... u know

>trusting the Brazilian government to monitor and contain Favela diseases

If these people have found a cure they better go into hiding because those in power might not want a cure, it will interfere with the plan. Just a possibility?

Yes.

felipe minha sogra fez aqui também KKKKKKKKkkkkkkkkkkk

Why do we need this?

>Start doing some real research
>Play Plague Inc

Yeah just because you were clueless doesn't mean the surface level knowledge of pandemics in the game will help anyone else.

I think you are the one that could do with some "real research" you dumb fucking boomer.

A steady supply of crack cocaine and BestGore videos for a few months at least

UMA DELICIA

This can only mean coronachan is getting blacked and already having mutts offspring.

eu por mim ja tinha metido a pica nessa desgraça chinesa gostosa

Caralho que delícia de thread kkkkkkkkkkkkk
Corre que os gringo tá puto

chloroquine and hiv drugs helping has been known for long, the issue is the more often the drug is used the more likely it might lead to the virus mutating into a more resistant strain. and besides that chloroquine have sonme nasty side effects that can even be permanent

Based

the gringo fear the macaco

If it mutates it’s no longer COVID-19. Might more or less lethal.

His point stands that a more lethal strain branching off of a highly infectious virus is a doomsday scenario.
