>A man in Russia is being detained after being accused of preying outside a teenage disco where a 13-year-old girl was abducted, raped and strangled, say local police.
Alexander Lipatov, 35, is suspected of being part of a child sex gang with at least one other accomplice who is being hunted by police.
The 13-year-old Elizaveta Chernova screamed as she was dragged into a car in her village in the Tambov region, in central Russia. Some witnesses say that the three men in the car were close to the disco Elizaveta had attended.
The schoolgirl's body was later found buried 5ft-deep in a makeshift forest grave.
Forensic evidence later revealed she had been raped and strangled with an electric cable, said the Russian Investigative Committee. The teenage girl's body was covered in bruises and she had suffered a significant blow to the head.
Lipatov, a married father has been detained suspected of murder after he was linked to driving the car that the girl was abducted in.
DNA tests are underway in a bid to identify the sex attacker or attackers.
Elizaveta was kidnapped as her father walked to meet her when she left a youth club disco for schoolchildren in her village of Bokino.
Before her disappearance, Elizaveta had phoned her mother to say she was leaving the disco and coming home.
Lipatov, from nearby Kotovsk town, at first claimed he had run over and killed the girl, and in a state of panic, threw her body into a river but he is now accused of misleading police.
The victim’s father Alexey Chernov demanded that police "should not hide” evidence of a “gang rape” of his daughter involving one or two other kidnappers.
Her mother Tatyana Chernova said: "She left the disco early….People heard screams, and there was some kind of suspicious car. The girls who remained in the club heard some screams.
