Next time buy a good gun.

even this noguns has better taste

What's wrong with this one?

Steyr Scout. Absolutely based choice. An amazing rifle.

If a man could only have one rifle, it should be a Steyr Scout.

Attached: Scout01.jpg (1600x1200, 2.26M)

Hey they's my same gun! Nice!

Have you gotten to shoot it yet? Do you have ammo?

Yeah, learn to shoot. Don't waste ammo, fucking toothless fucks have panic bought it all.

Except I went for the high scope mount because I'm a glasses faggot.

It's a meme gun that the picture you found online posted by the real owner fucked up even more by raising the scope higher than it should be.
One gun = no guns.

Center Fucking Mass, every time.

I mounted and then zeroed the scope in according to instructions with levels and a plumb bob. Then I was able to hit the target at 100 and 200 yards.

>blot action
Not gonna make it user, not like me and my double blaster here

that bi-pod? more like gay-pod

all right!

Don't let anyone give you grief. If it works and you can shoot it, it's better than nothing and will serve you fine.

>100 ravaging niggers descend upon your stash location
>bolt action rifle
>position overrun in less than 10 seconds

No it’s my actual gun.

convert it to full semi automatic glow nigger

>Op is some alien glow nigger making a list of patriot off our IPs
>Sets up government take over during quarantine
>Comes for everyone posting these threads first to exterminate them
>Aliens get 300 round clipazines from steroid pumper amerifats instead

Attached: Deadly SS-Army.jpg (453x640, 317.19K)

Then you fucked up. You should have gotten an AR-pattern rifle instead.
You will not survive the Corona Boogaloo.

Attached: AR_2.jpg (3264x2448, 1.92M)

Shoot yourself.

I think I'll be OK and the high scope mount was critical to getting a good view through the scope with glasses.

I guess it's pretty common for this high mount and glasses wearers.

>posting real guns on the interweb
Man you gotta post ya meme guns on here

Switch quickly between your knife and rifle to noscope accurately.

>post with burgerstan flag
>it was the last gun they had
Pick one.

>Just bought my first gun
lmao you're going to see all this Yas Forums kids with scopes they didn't even zero. my fire formed handloaded rounds are going to bullseye your scope and go into your brain. get raided bitch

columbine/10

How much did you pay of a Scout? And I thought you couldn't buy them in the states???

How hard can you swing it?

$1250 and apparently I can? Anyway it's mine now.

>If a man could only have one rifle, it should be a Steyr Scout.
Wut? You forgot the “lol”

Yeah i was thinking the same thing. What kind of faggy shit is that?

Masturbate with the barrel tickling your prostate,

Don't listen to him user, he's probably from /k/. If that's really your rifle, you made an excellent choice. I've got about 7 firearms, and that's all I need, but if I buy a long range rifle, the scout is on the list.

learn how to clean it, learn how to load it

Spendy.

>Does anybody have any advice?
Yes
Your scope is shit, throw it out, or even better use it for target practice
Your optics are as important as the rifle itself
Get a scope that has parallax adjust, first focal plane, proper milling, and don't fall for the forward mounted long eye relief meme
Otherwise you happened upon a decent rifle whether or not you know it
Steps from here:
Remove shit scope
Learn to shoot with irons
You should get comfortable at 50 yds with irons
Once those are sighted in and you feel alright invest in a good scope
If money is no object, get this:
eurooptic.com/Steiner-M5Xi-3-15X50mm-MSR-2-34mm-Black-Rifle-Scope-8707-MSR2.aspx
Best reticle, makes ranging simple stupid
Next, mount scope(Spuhr makes best mounts, you can go cheaper and be fine, don't go nigger cheap), bridging over brass eject area, not the tard forward mount
If money is an issue look into the following, probably best bang for the buck:
swfa.com/swfa-ss-3-15x42-tactical-rifle-scope-3.html?___SID=U
I repeat, for scope must have:
Parallax adjustment
First Focal Plane reticle
Milling
Next figure out what load shoots best out of that thing, probably gonna be something on the heavier side of 308, but you never know
Sight it in at 25, then 50, then 100
Once at 100 shoot until you group sub moa (under 1 inch radius, 3 shot at first, then 5)
Once you have done that you can call yourself proficient at shooting, not good, just good enough to not be a tard
Stock up on ammo
Get a bandoileer of some kind
Probably ~100 rds loadout
Have more at home for whatever
Make dope charts once you're proficient
Next, get a sidearm
My reccomendations:
Nog budget: Kel Tec
Middle $, but still good: VP9, PPQ
Fuck it money: Sig P226 X5

the fire when you coooooom!

I like it because it makes me run fast

Don't listen to this guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Spendy but worth it btw. Go do research on wikipedia on the role of that rifle. The scope is meant to be forward so that your situation awareness is increased. Normally a rear-mounted scope obscures vision.

That is the most pathetic looking rifle I’ve seen. But it’ll work

Indeed. 6.6lbs for a top quality bolt action .308.

You will run fast.

The scout rifle as we know it has its origins in the 1960s. At that time, the father of the modern technique of the pistol and Gunsite Academy (originally the American Pistol Institute) founder Jeff Cooper was working with various carbines, including the Winchester Model 1894, Mannlicher-Schoenauer and Remington Model 600. He was attracted to these rifles because of their handiness and suitability at filling a general-purpose role.

The Remington Model 600, to which he attached a forward-mounted, long-eye-relief riflescope, became his pick and what he began to refer to as “Scout I.” A decade or so later, Cooper codified and conceptualized the scout rifle. He envisioned the scout rifle as gun perfectly suited to someone working remotely and alone as a hunter or military scout. As Cooper saw it, the scout rifle was never intended to be used by a member of a fire team, and its forte was not volume fire. It was to be a rifle ideally suited to the general-purpose role. In other words, it should do almost anything anyone needs to do with a rifle—and do it well.

personaldefenseworld.com/2017/09/scout-rifle-personal-defense/

Cooper considered friendliness to be an important aspect of the scout rifle. That is, it should point naturally, be easy to handle and be ideally adapted to the snap shot. Further, he set forth an elemental description of how he believed the optimum scout rifle should be configured. And although he was not opposed to a semi-automatic, there was not a semi-auto light enough to meet his specifications, nor is there one now. Additionally, Cooper believed the scout rifle should be usable worldwide, and semi-automatics are forbidden in some locations. During a 1983 conference at Gunsite, the definition of a scout rifle was established.

>Snap shots, exactly.

Cooper wrote prolifically about the scout rifle concept with the hopes of convincing a manufacturer to build one. He also worked with gunsmiths at Gunsite to develop various prototypes. Of those, Scout II, or “Sweetheart,” was the most famous. It was the rifle used by an engineer from Steyr Mannlicher when he visited Cooper at his ranch in Paulden, Arizona, in 1990. That led to Steyr agreeing to design and manufacture a rifle meeting Cooper’s scout rifle specifications. Seven years later, the Steyr Scout rifle was introduced, and Cooper anointed it as the best personal weapon in the world.

fucking kek

Bolt action is good for starters, but not in time of crysis when people will wave their semi-autos and assault rifles who have rate of fire, you can't counter.

>the best personal weapon in the world

>Don't listen to this guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about.
youtube.com/watch?v=7ob0fgc0I7A
Watch this guy hunt
What do you think about his situational awareness
He has that situation awareness with the scope being mounted rearward, where god intended it to be
There is a reason this concept was never adopted by any military past the 2nd WW
Cooper came up with the concept with literal boomer tech
2moa was his requirements for accuracy, any modern off the shelf bolt will achieve 1moa with the right ammo and shooter
The inherit weakness of a forward mounted scope is if the sun is behind you at the right angle your scope can be rendered useless
Also forward mounted scopes do not do well in low light conditions
Cooper also explicitly said himself "conventionally" mounted scopes were acceptable, if low power
Now (remember, its not 1980 when cooper wrote out his concept) you can have a scope that goes down to 3x and up to 15x no problem, you can have the best of both worlds

You're a religious nut. You even turn firearms into dogma.

Aim away from face.

>You're a religious nut. You even turn firearms into dogma.
It was an attempt at humor
I still detect no argument as with your first aspersion

>So the scout concept is so-and-so, that's how they designed it.
>* Throws your gun in the trash *
>No that's all WRONG. Let me tell you what you REALLY need!
The narcissistic manchild.

I would need to harness the energy of 3 universes to defeat a narc.

lol well played

Attached: lolwp.jpg (711x258, 44.75K)

Spend at least 30 min a day bringing the scope up to your eye. You will eventually be able to point the gun to where you're looking and the scope will be right on it, a bit like Call of Duty auto-aim.

Practice constantly, because noobs just put the scope up to their eye and take a while trying to find the target, they don't hold it steady either, so they're useless.

dude, c'mon now, you are bad at this

Great pickup.

bomp

>The narcissistic manchild.
Strawmen
Still no argument
I specifically said the rifle is fine, the scope is not
The scout concept was conceived with the gear they had at the time
Cooper simply had less to work with than we do now
We are blessed with the greatest selection of gear imaginable as gun owners in the US in 2020 (some states need not apply)
Optics have advanced leaps and bounds over what they were in 1980
In 1980 scopes with parallax adjust were exceedingly rare
In 1980 scopes with milling were exceedingly rare
In 1980 durable and clear glass that went as low as 3x and high as 15x were exceedingly rare
Its OP's choice
He can dogmatically constrain himself to Coopers requirements for cooper's time period, or he can still apply the general concept with modern optics

I know this is a joke thread, but the Steyr Scout is still based and redpilled. If you had to have only one gun, it would certainly serve you well. Of course in that pic the optic and mount looks super shitty, but whatever. I used to own one, but in 7mm remington, back when bolt actions in "military calibers" were too much of a hassle to get. Mine was the original grey one, with the leupold optic. Used to hunt with it, perfectly suited for that purpose. Sold it later on, because I went for a gun in .308 after the changes in the law in 2012. Unfortunately, new production Steyr scouts nowadays are much too expensive, and I don't like that black color.

If I could have just one gun, I'd like a draganov, and that's even taking into consideration the ammo is hard to find

>quickscope
>BOOM HEADSHOT

Based.
