Depends, with federally recognized tribes if the tribe can afford it they get healthcare for all tribal members. Usually everything is paid for within the tribal govt not by the U.S feds

Not true the government doesn't offer anything besides grants to federally recognized tribes everything else is made from the casinos that the tribal members put their own money into with the help of investors, Also federal law is enforced on the reservations therefore state and local police have no jurisdiction unless permitted. They abide by federal law

Certain tribes get paid and that's because they have a tribal business ie casinos which by the way they have to get permission to even put a casino on federal land, they pool their own money together and with the help of investors they can get the casino built, the revenue is then divided amongst tribal members and the tribal council to fulfill the need of the members such as improved housing,roads,ect. The government is rarely involved in Indian Affairs. Realistically any large group of people can do the same as long as they get permission to open a casino

At some point you just have to stop helping them (or do the bare minimum to be able to say you're "helping them", but you're letting them die off). Injuns migrate regularly off the reserve and into the larger society. But there's always ones that will stick around on the rez. This continues to happen every generation until the ones on the rez are essentially self-selected to be the least ambitious, most self-destructive, useless humans. You'll never fully be rid of them, save for a plague wiping them out. All you can hope to do is reduce their numbers and tuck them away in a dark corner. It's the same with any population of undesirables. You'll never fully "fix" the problem, because there will always be stragglers.

In summer 2019 I have traveled across America from NYC to LA, We’ve been in lots of places but the Indian reservations looked like literal hell and they basically live in a secluded state compared to the other “normal” people.
Their towns are outside major roads and their people looked very hostile and unfriendly compared to the standard respectful attitude of the average white american.
Even commercial establishments have poor tolerance for foreign people, some gas stations felt VERY different from other parts of the USA.
Fun fact: gas station owners in basically every single town in the country wanted to hear our story (from VA to UT). They were really friendly and gladly gave us really useful tips.

Not all tribes are equal. My parents live on a reservation, but they have a nice house with a small farm on 140 acres that's mostly woodlands. Hunting is good out there and you have an infinite supply of fire wood and water from the large creek that flows through it. The tribe reimburses them for their electric bill every month as well. It's comfy living.

My father belongs to a federally recognized tribe that has many businesses. All tribal members have to abide by federal law, people who say it's free reign are larping to make themselves seem interesting. When it comes to tribal affairs the govt has no say. But to get a casino or an airport built you must get permission from the Federal govt. Most of the time they will say yes because they get a piece of the pie.

Government didn't give them casinos they just authorized the casino being built. All funds that went towards building the casino was done by tribal members and investors. It's the smart tribes that make it. Any large group of individuals can do the exact same thing
