Stop buying shitty prep knives

Tired of seeing cheap fragile pieces of crap in peoples prep/EDC/defence or w/e. Stainless steel pieces of paperweight crap they sell for a couple bucks. This is a Schrade Frontier 36, 40 quid UK so like, maybe 50 bucks USA or less, it is affordable, efficient & durable.

- 5mil blade thickness, tip ain't to narrow a taper either, making it good for prying
- 1095 high carbon, not the best not the worst, for the price though it is good, it will certainly last you as long as you take care of it, remember to oil your carbon blades
- Overall sturdy construction, practical blade design, good gimping and finger choil for grip and blade control

Forgot to mention it is also full tang, another vitally important feature.

ive never heard of oiling carbon blades wtf im a nigger

i have that knife. it sucks ass. its too wide to slice with. its heavy and unbalanced. its trash. like you. steel sucks too.

Attached: 20141125_223958.jpg (5312x2988, 3.92M)

Yes, yes you are.

That is pure semantics, the blade is good for certain things and not for others, if you wanted to slice things up, you would use a thinner blade, that'as why kitchen knives have thin blades, so clearly this was not designed with the primary purpose of cutting up veg or w/e it is you were doing. Com on man, don't be a noob about knives, git gud and learn the fine points.

I have a brand new Cold Steel GI Tanto. Am I gonna survive?

@_@ well, no points for style or design consideration, but there is one positive trait that particular blade has, it is actually fairly indestructible, youtube search the knife destruction test guy, it holds up surprisingly well.

here are a few of my knives. among them you'll see your POS.

its trash compared to the other two fixed blades and most of the folders.

Is this a poor man's BK2? Also, don't buy a BK2. Buy an Esee-4, 5, or 6 and call it a day.

In essence yes.

thanks, user

Some nice blades there pal, buck bk&t and is that a condor? kinda reminds me of the hudson bay line.

Can you list the other brands if you happen to know em off top of head? I wont make you fuck around if you dont know, just curio.

A pricer but much nicer option: heinnie.com/bk-t-crewman

Good $50 option

Good $20 option - look up how to do vinegar bluing for this knife to protect the steel

Don't bother with the shitty knife OP linked. Can't blame him, bongs aren't very good with knives because their government tends to take them away.

You can get the commercial dh Russell version of this at most marine supply shops

First blade you linked has the same steel hardness rating thereabouts, what makes this option vastly superior?

>Not having Rehwappen Solingen

Why would anyone listen to someone who can't even own a knife.

same set as

Attached: 20200314_213245.jpg (4032x3024, 2.76M)

Fairly decent selection of brands there, well played Sir, I was almost afraid I'd see a spyderco or god forbid a gerber among those folders.

Butter knife

If you have a lighter and a knife you can survive anything. I’d even prefer the lighter over a knife because starting a fire is more important and harder to do than cutting something.

Since when could we not own knives, machete's, axes, crossbows, swords, maces, pretty much any hand weapon is perfectly legal to own in the UK. The idea that we can't even legally own knives etc is literally a meme.

if i wasn't user i would take that personally
wouldn't be caught dead with em. i have more just cant be bothered to find them. my good fixed blades are tucked away for hunting season.

Can you rum around in the woods shooting a .308?

I only buy from Ka-bar.
Does that make me a faggot?

That upturned sheeps foot looks interesting, not something I myself would own but nice. You blades a decent amount of belly eh?

If it makes a hole, it does the job. Only faggots coom over their csgo-esk knifes

Esee5 masterrace

Kek, a lighter will last you maybe a week. Are you that retarded?

eww. 810 is better.
use your knife bro that edge looks factory.

yeah i sharpen my knives. you can see the SOG twitch 2 is almost shot.

As long as you pay for the paperwork yes gov.uk/hunting

You people have poor taste. The least you should do is esee. But really for a do it all knife you should be trying to get ahold of a knife by Nathan Carothers. Bradford in 3V or 4V/Vanadis 4E would also be great.

Don't waste your time with buck or gerber. Schrade has one or two good budget fixed blades. For a good budget folder get an Ontario Rat and don't look back. Anything above that is just wasting money. Sure, higher priced stuff will have higher priced materials, but quality isn't going to get much better and it's actually on par with knives that cost significantly more. I do carry a an M4 PM2 everyday, though. Let's see if anyone here actually knows knives.

these are pretty easy to make and cheap too

Attached: no 15.jpg (800x324, 93.37K)

Baahah, that is the perfect response.

is that you alaskanon?

>a brit talking about knives

fuck off limey you've probably never held a knife in your life

a stainless steal beater knife is invaluable. You want multiple piece of crap beater knives you can abuse and don't care if they chip or snap. Have 1 good carbon steel, 1 good stainless steal, and a bunch of beaters

You know Benchmade is anti-2nd amendment, right?

KA-BAR is a reliable brand, you might like to look into BK&T it's becker & KA-BAR doing a double act. A good double act.

I have a Bark River Bravo 1 that has lasted me years. Very strong knife.

Condor Jungle Bowie is my go to corona zombie looter stabber.

Failkniven F1 is my make a fire in the woods knoife.

>benchmade knives
not even once.

Attached: COL88GMSSM.jpg (1000x1000, 103.03K)

people shit on tantos but I like them. I have an 8 inch kabar tanto. The back of the blade is wide AF, great for smacking with a log if you're trying to split wood or something. The blade is also very narrow, perfect for stabbing though I bought it mainly as a survival type knife

>Pom giving us advice on how to survive?

Nigger Muslims are raping your kids and you have police arresting you for posts on social media. You are the last people I would take advice from.
Go roll over for your tyrannical government and your Muslim over lords.

Thats where the bushcraft skills come in. Light some birch bark quickly and you have a match. Bury coals in ash and put punky wood on the fire. Never have to use lighter again assuming you can keep some coals.

Only a total ingrate thinks a knife is a knife. There is a reason professionals purchase quality tools, and there is a good reason for wanting to own and use quality tools if you are going to own and use tools. If you do not believe in owning something well made and just always buy the cheapest piece of shit you can, you are not a very forward thinking organism.

I've got a barn full of agricultural tools. Do I really know about the knife company you invested in?

Based

Yeah that's good advice, the annoying part about the UK is because there is less of a blade industry over here, due to supply/demand, we are far more limited in brand and models.

tanto is good till the angle of the edge dulls which it will quickly then you ruin the tanto shape by sharpening (over time) unless your real careful.
same with serrations at least you can sharpen those from the back side easily if your lazy and dont want to make passes in each serration groove.
that being said tanto is better when dull same with serrations.

can never go wrong with KAbar IMO

They're literally designed for stabbing so I don't get the crap they get either.

What's the best knife on the table and why is it the KA-BAR Becker BK2?

How are Ontario fold knives? Anyone has one?

Attached: s-l1000.jpg (1000x1000, 246.37K)

Germany was ahead of its time, truly the BBC of knives.

You're not carrying a fucking plow on you everyday, buckwheat, but sure, it pays to have good equipment no matter where it's stored at. But paying $300 for an outstanding knife is a lot more realistic than paying $1,000,000 for an outstanding combine.

Riot shield + Boar spear + Cold Steel gladius, plus I actually was taught medieval martial arts, so I am more a danger to someone else than myself when using a hand weapon, Come at me bro.

>BK&T
You mean like the Becker Tac Bar with Micarta handle? Sorry for the shitty photo :D

Attached: bk-tac-bar.png (1080x720, 810.97K)

CRKT Dragon is the best knife I have ever had.

Winkler belt knife plus combat axe.
This feel soooooo good.

Attached: bladez.jpg (3120x4160, 2.69M)

For the price, excellent. On par with a spyderco tenacious but for less money, like half the price.
