‘Euroleaks’: Varoufakis LEAKS recordings of secretive Eurogroup talks on Greece in fight for ‘democratization of the EU’ 14 Mar, 2020. The former finance minister of Greece, Yanis Varoufakis, has released a cache of audio files, secretly recorded in 2015 during the bailout talks with the Eurogroup – a powerful group of eurozone’s finance chiefs. The recordings and their transcripts were released by Varoufakis on the website of his ‘pan-European’ DiEM25 party on Saturday. The files –dubbed ‘Euroleaks’– were recorded between February and July 2015, when cash-strapped Athens was entangled in painful talks with its creditors.
In 2015, Varoufakis was the chief negotiator for then-ruling Syriza party, dealing with the Eurogroup and those behind it – the so-called ‘troika.’ It comprises the three main lenders of the eurozone nations – the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
While the Eurogroup is de-jure an informal group, it is actually a powerful decision-making institute that lacks accountability and transparency – and does not keep any records. The main goal in releasing the recordings is to shed light on its secretive activities, Varoufakis said in a video announcing the Euroleaks.
#Euroleaks: Eurogroup June 27, 2015, in Brussels. Meeting of the Eurozone finance ministers including Yanis Varoufakis, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, Wolfgang Schäuble, and others, plus representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and European Central Bank (ECB). >Bump for interest This is going to have some serious reactions from those EU SWINES. At least it should, but if they don't react in public to it then they might be plotting to take him (Yanis Varoufakis) down. Very brave man. Greek Assange.
Varoufakis is a leftist Marxist traitor. He was literary the Minister of Finance of Syriza.
Jack Miller
>Varoufakis is a leftist Marxist traitor. He was literary the Minister of Finance of Syriza. And how was he bad for Greece, and how is he bad now exposing the EU SWINES for trying to fuck up Greece (and they, the EU did fuck Greece big time). How is that bad and making him a traitor? Please explain.
Varoufakis is a dubious person with connections to goldman sachs , dressed like a thug to represend Greeks and wore a suit to the Cannes. Hope they all eat eachother in the end though
(;´・ω・) what the fuck less than 3 months into the decade and the habbenings won't stop
Andrew Miller
He wasn't necessarily a traitor but he was naive and incompetent. Given his station that's practically the same
Nicholas Scott
I'm listening to this now,(it was recorded in 2015), and boy the frequency of people coughing into the mikes is so strange listening to it in 2020 in time of CoronaVirus.
what the fuck this card castle is coming down only similarity i can think of is like when chernobyl happened, and the lies, and the soviet union falling is the european union dead? covid feels like chernobyl on steroids, our feminists even made a march like the soviets did on kiev under the radioactive dust
Daniel Miller
I saw Varoufakis at a panel discussion 2 years ago the guy is an absolute brainlet who is still constantly whining about how he was mistreated by the troika a decade or so ago he actually managed to lose the discussion against a madman from our green party, whose main plan was to increase funding for Erasmus because in his mind this would lead to the creation of a pan-European Frankenstein mutt race (I'm not even making that up)
Jaxon Clark
>And how was he bad for Greece The way he negotiated the deal in the EU literary destroyed all the low-middle companies because we were no longer able to make bank transactions.
Luis Morales
>Bump cause sounds like it's important It is important. Your observation is very correct user. Even if you are not into it to know the details, but the act of secretly recording those meetings (from February to July 2015), so it was not like just one meeting recorded secretly but a bunch of them. And considering that this "group" is so secretive that they don't even keep any records of their meetings, that makes all this Greek affair even more important.
Aiden Wilson
Show flag , newfag.
Jayden Morales
bumperino
Nathan Taylor
>The way he negotiated the deal in the EU literary destroyed all the low-middle companies because we were no longer able to make bank transactions. Are you sure it was him that did that and not the EU. You sounding that the EU had the best interests of Greece and Greek people in mind.
>Show flag , newfag. Let's just focus on the topic of this thread. Flags are not important. Flags are irrelevant to this discussion, to any discussion. Contents of the posts is what is important.
Jaxon Evans
Can coronavirus time travel, user?
Hunter Ramirez
this should serve as a reminder that certain countries are EU's pimps and you have no option but to act accordingly. Hopefully the day this shit collapses approaches
DiEM25 and their vision for the EU is way worse than what we have now, which already is neolib extinction of European culture and history-tier.
Ethan Perry
Varoufakis wants to reform the EU and wants to get le migrants in.
Nicholas Barnes
>Literary comparing greece with a company. >You sounding that the EU had the best interests of Greece and Greek people in mind. I don't believe that. But I believe Varoufakis had the worst interests of Greece in mind. He is in the Greek Parliament BTW. >Let's just focus on the topic of this thread. Flags are not important. Fucking, newfag. Diem25 team is spamming Yas Forums. >and wants to get le migrants in Also this.
500billion for "environmental purposes" for start. That was fucking hillarious when I first read it.
Carson Clark
>. But I believe Varoufakis had the worst interests of Greece in mind. So why would he release this now. Is it in your opinion to show how bad he was for Greece, or how was he fighting for Greece? Or maybe he release this now to show how great the EU finance chiefs were for Greece and how they were trying to do the best for the Greek people.
I think that you are not honest here, user with your negativity towards him.
Lucas Gonzalez
So this just proves the EU pimped Greece?
Charles Martin
This guy describes what actually happened in Greece.(See pic). The point this guy made was never clear to the Greek people. > And my simple question will be rather blunt, Yanis, is that have you seriously been able to explain the consequences of the actions that you’re currently taking and then the risks that you are taking to the Greek people? >Or maybe he release this now to show how great the EU finance chiefs were for Greece and how they were trying to do the best for the Greek people. What he will actually do is basically release the transcripts and hang on to the few parts that suit him . Common leftist tactic. The fact that he wants open borders is enough for most guys here to hate him.
I am posting the transcript of the conversation you posted BTW. Also one more time. SHOW FLAG.
Yes. Goes to show any country not in the top is fucked and will have to succumb to whatever terms they are handed. They already try to fuck Britain as hard as they can, if it didn't have a strong economy they would be done
Are you the OP from the other thread about Corona WW3 June 2020 87%?
Cameron Thomas
>Are you the OP from the other thread about Corona WW3 June 2020 87%? No, I'm not.
Sebastian Gutierrez
>diem25 shill are you fucking retarded or just larping as one? i already said varoufakis is a soros man but if you think we had any chance at a negotiation back then you are stupid. weak economies cant stand up to the EU or at least couldnt ill be out celebrating once this shit dies
Brandon Perry
>A deal that was not on the table What Syriza basically did, was to call a referendum about a deal calling it a bad deal, before the deal was made. So the negotiations stopped and we crashed. They wanted the crash to happen.
I this video at 1:03:00 some strange clicking noise started, like sending More Code sounds...click click click click ... Anybody has a clue what that is?
Easton Williams
You still haven't answered how does this particular video proves that EU pimped Greece. I don't say EU treated us well, but I won't say that a leftist "exposed the EU" when he didn't. Because the leftists are using it us propaganda. Do you get me faggot?
Tyler Gray
>before the deal was made. Was it because the deal was bad right from the start?
Matthew Butler
What deal?
Levi Allen
Bump
Parker Peterson
They made us vote on a deal that never existed. Losing time and crushing the banks. That is the point.
Jose Gutierrez
>The fact that he wants open borders is enough for most guys here to hate him. OK, I agree with that. Open borders are bad idea as it was proven by many countries in the EU.
But wasn't the (mainly) German investors who invested in Greek industries and who purchased lot's of real estate in Greece are the ones that fucked Greek economy, or at least contributed to it in a very large scale. ???
Andrew Cox
Yes tear each other apart you fucking kikes
Gavin Johnson
>What deal? The deal that was refused because it was bad for Greece right from the start.
I feel that you are not being honest and on purpose twisting things up trying to make this to be very simple, but in fact it was not.
Sebastian Morales
>The deal that was refused because it was bad for Greece right from the start. So there was no deal and he asked people to vote on one, losing time and crushing the banks. Exactly as I said. On clarification. When you are asking people to vote on a deal , there should be a mutually agreed paper to vote on. There was none. From both sides, not only the side of Syriza. >I feel that you are not being honest and on purpose twisting things up trying to make this to be very simple, but in fact it was not. I don't care about your feelings.
Robert Lewis
Also I will ask you again one more time. WHAT DEAL? SHOW ME THE PAPER OF THE DEAL.
Sebastian Harris
You sound like some delusional communist.
Cameron Sanders
For saying that a self-declared marxist is a shill? Please tell me more.
Jaxon Scott
Vanya! What's with the night time posting on a weekend? Did you get shafted into the shitty timeslot because of poor results?
>When you are asking people to vote on a deal , there should be a mutually agreed paper to vote on. There was none. From both sides, not only the side of Syriza. I hope you do realize how silly your arguments are. I'm sure there was a question on the voting forms. From what you are posting it sounds that people in Greece were given a blank piece of paper to vote on. Your arguments are as powerful as typical communist propaganda.
Brayden Morgan
> From what you are posting it sounds that people in Greece were given a blank piece of paper to vote on. Bingo faggot. Now you get it.
Leo Hill
The voting was a joke. It wasted time and resources and at the end served no purpose
"Varoufakis was the only honest broker in the whole EU and the troika. He stood by the people of Greece with his election promise. The only mistake he made was not exiting from the Euro, default on the debt, and reinstate the Drachma as their sovereign currency. His Prime Minister (and friend) stabbed him in the back..."
Dylan Ward
So the EU forced the vote just to have it their way.
