0.2% is the fatality rate. Not the complication rate. But generally speaking if it's not fatal you'll make a decent recovery over time. COVID-19 is airborn and takes a long time to become symptomatic. There's no avoiding it. Everyone will eventually be exposed. Should we just fucking all sit around and let the world decay until vital services shut down and cause chaos? Or should we just quit worrying and let the cards fall as they may. Yeah it sucks that lots of people will die. But it's a positive evolutionary pressure in a species that has been hurting for one for a long time.

And that single fatality was an 80 year old man with serious health problems to begin with. You have to consider that the 20-29 age group is probably the one who is most active and has the most contacts (bars, career, university, travelling). Younger people have limited contact (school, family and friends, not going out as much as the older group) and older people are less active (family, married, small social circle).

This. I've been suspecting it for awhile... Complications are based on how much exposure you've had to the virus, and overall exogenous viral load.... Part of why the self quarantine works is because you're lessening the exposure to external sources of the virus. If you're constantly exposed, because you think you're immune, you're far more likely to have complications in groups that aren't generally expected to have complications.

Yes there will be ICU patients and fatalities because there are immun deficient and severely ill people below 40. With likely more than a million cases in Italy you would suspect them to show up at the hospital.
Nobody ever claimed people below 29/19 were immun they just have more asymptotic or very mild cases which aren’t reported, but if you are immune suppressed or otherwise very ill even people below 29/19 can die. If you do have an enormous amount of cases like Italy some will show up at the ICU.
