i intend on learning latin but i have only just decided to only go to the latin mass. it takes time to learn a language.

The addition of ‘and the Son’ was to combat Arianism, not the Eastern understanding of the Trinity. Their early church focused more on the three persons of God while the Catholic focused on the unity of the the unity of the three persons. It’s not really irreconcilable but I also can’t comment on your second point because I haven’t read on that at all.
