That's true. But early intervention and good care generally does. Hanks is 66, overweight and diabetic. But he's been identified early and getting focused, specialized care. Unlike thousands of elderly Italians who will just have to coof it out. But yeah, people like that 95 year old who died here had little hope. Even regular flu is touch and go for them.

Massively. It is almost impossible to overstate how strong their lobby is here. All the way up to Trudeau to city mayors. In British Columbia there is so much money in municipal politics it just makes the news regularly. Major Canadian companies have been bought by them, such as oil companies Husky and Nexen. Our universities are flooded with them, and they have "Comfucius Centres" in many Canadian universities. This is just off the top of my head.
