I had the operator license a long time ago, but I found cell phones (without the need for a carrier), Bluetooth, and wireless routers make for better/more secure channel if you know how to program your own apps/servers. Radio is better on the road though. Even if someone manages to catch your transmissions its intermittent and all they get are beep boops since they don't know how to unpack what's being sent.

UV-5R/Radio newfag here. Why is there two frequencies displayed on the screen? You can select either and scan for channels. I realize there's different bands, etc. just seems you can only tune into a single frequency at a time so wy are two on the screen?
