A one world government would be soulless and soul-crushing. There would be police on every fucking corner because when you try to make one government for a million different types of people, the only way to make it work is force.
The ideal government is where each person is his own government, like the lolbertarians and the commies say. Obviously, that doesn't work, so you scale up to like a county-size government, maybe a state government. That's why the US constitution is so great - it tailors the government down as closely as it can to each person being his own government, while adding some limitations that make the system work.
