Early stoppages are a problem because the fans started crying about CTE, and the UFC banned ref Mario Yamasaki for not stopping a fight soon enough. So now early stoppages are extremely common because if they get a late stoppage they could lose their job.
UFC unfortunately is regulated by boxing commissions which appoint the judges. Usually bad decisions aren't common but this year it has been pretty bad.
