Italy data looks so bad for two reasons.
Firstly it has a very aged population, and most of the people dying are so old that a slight gust of wind could fuck them up. Just so happens to be this virus that does it.
Secondly, they're only testing the cases that are bad enough to require testing. There are, no doubt, many more milder cases that are going undetected.
South Korea, on the other hand, is doing tests on much larger portions of the population, mild or serious. So a larger percentage of the mild cases are being picked up. Hence, the lower serious,critical/death rate.
Even the low death rate in south korea is probably a massive over-estimation of the true death rate, when you take into account all the milder cases.
Everything is being made to look much worse than it is right now.
Most honest representation is probably that boomer death ship. And even that has only had 7 die out of about 700. And this is a ship where the average age is over 60.
