We are not so much seeing a rise of the coronavirus, but rather a rise in the perception of the coronavirus.
It has been around for longer because the chinks kept it quiet for a long time. Had that doctor not blown the whistle, we'd probably carry on thinking we're experiencing a slightly worse flu season.
the perception is driven by the Hype and who is selling the Hype? The MSM is CREATING the Hype. Creating the panic over a relatively benign flu season.
Joseph Cox
Is there a potential legal case to be made against the MSM for stoking the panic while profiting from the resulting increased traffic and viewing of their platforms?
I hope so, its having a really bad effect, causing uncertainty is the worst...

If you turn off the news you have a mild winter with nobody at all in sight getting sick. It's hilarious, I'm flying to Vegas next week and Vegas has no shutdowns or advisories.
what kind of gloryhole porn is that ? am I on Yas Forums ?
Noah White
Maybe, but I try to not uncritically swallow what the MSM throws at me. The first alarmist articles, particularly in left wing media (circa end of Jan) were all about the death rate in Wuhan. Then someone rubbed two braincells together and realised that the CFR figures are only as good as our ability to test and testing is confined to the cases that we know about. Once this narrative fell down, the latest crutch for the fearmongers are the alarmist figures from Italy, which I am betting will be verified in the next few weeks.
Two things worth remembering:
1. China suppressed this information for as long as they could. It was likely been spreading in the population for weeks if not months before the Wuhan quarantine. 2. Everything you hear is based on a media that is incentivised to generate views and clicks and they are getting their information from people with limited resources working under extreme pressure. The sources of data are not perfect.
Exercise caution with the sick and the elderly, absolutely, but if we carry on like this we are in for something much worse than this virus.
We already had a worse flu season last year. I suspect Corona virus exists for some years worldwide already and we only got to know thanks to chinese whistleblowers.
>implying a breakdown of clownworld is a bad thing and not an opportunity to unfuck shit.

Yep, there's a difference between a little bloody phlegm from excessive coughing and having your lungs literally fill up with fluid causing you to pass out
In essentially accusing me of downplaying COVID-19 you appear to be yourself downplaying the seriousness of influenza. As there is an unlimited number of horror stories we can both google to throw at each other, I think I'll leave this one.

It's actually not even as bad as the flu. 40 people died in the US?
60,000 people died from flu in the US last year.

A single person can be charged for yelling fire in a theater. The media has blanket 1st Amendment rights. They can go on live tv a say everyone is going to die and then issue a retraction the next day on their twitter feed.
>1. China suppressed this information for as long as they could. It was likely been spreading in the population for weeks if not months before the Wuhan quarantine. The fact that CHINA of all fucking places did this should tell you all you need to know about the severity of the disease. Like they give a shit about the value of human life.

A cording whit intelligence assets on China the USA gov knew, and did nothing about it
Good thing is in about two months, there won't be anymore of these fucking retards

There is a lot of face-saving and show of power in the initial response. Also the resources used in the early stages was arguably warranted because they did not yet have data on the severity of the disease. All they knew was something they had never seen was spreading at an alarming rate.
But if you're going to base your argument on China's response, you also need to take into account how quickly they have wound down their anti-coronavirus measures. If I remember correctly the last of the hastily built field hospitals has already been dismantled and China is already returning to business as usual.
Do I believe that they have actually "flattened the curve"? No. I think they have realised that massive quarantines and lockdowns are an overreaction.
I should also point out that a world in which western economies are in the toilet and China's is on its way to a rapid recovery is a very dangerous world to be in.

I’m doing normie things now. no one is around at the local Starbucks. This is great.
That's because there are only 1600 confirmed infections you retarded gook, if it infected as many as the flu does the 60+ age demographic will virtually be wiped out
