I think its mote that the masks are need to keep Docs from infecting patients with other diseases. I work in a hospital and our surgeons are have a ton of trouble trying to get masks. Its not the N95 masks they need but the small ones so that when they are cutting people open they dont shoot shit out of their mouths when they have to talk.

Standard masks do nothing to stop you from catching anything, but it can help you not spread it if you have it.
If you want to get a mask, you have to make sure it's got a filter small enough to prevent the virus getting through.
