Yet another corona thread

This might sound crazy. but hear me out on this one. Does anyone else remember everyone around them being sick with a respiratory illness in early January? Not quite the flu but worse than the average cold. Lasting around 2 weeks. Is it possible that the Wu Flu has been around the US longer than we realized and everyone has already been exposed? Really makes you think

Never seen entire school districts close for sickness but yet around a month and half ago, 4 local school districts closed for a week to clean the building because so many were sick. Anyone else thinking around here?

Yes.

Had the cough in November as did my family, some of whom had the “flu”

3RD STRAIN

My daughter was diagnosed with asthma back in February because she started experiencing breathing trouble. Two days ago they told us she is clear and doesn't need her inhaler anymore. Only weird part is if it was corona I think my wife and I would have gotten it? Still very odd

Actually yes, even here where it was summer, seemed like everyone was getting sick except me.

Southeastern MA here, exactly what I've been seeing.
Much much more than the normal "flu season" that we're all used to. Entire family had it. And literally every single person I saw in any store at all was coughing, sick in some way.
Normally you see at least some people who aren't sick.

>Trump impeachment fails
>Trump briefly starts polling higher then his democratic challengers
>suddenly there's a virus on the loose that almost exclusively kills people in the demographic most likely to vote for Trump
>media immediately jumps on it and says Trump failed to stop the virus
Yeah, it's awfully convenient.

I've felt shitty since early last year. I'm thinking the coof is a red herring, so officials know what cases to write off. The real virus affects digestive and vascular systems

And there it is. I caught something nasty from an acquaintance who is a bona-fide CFR member over Christmas. Even at the time I remember thinking it could be related to the weird pockets of disease in China.

ive had a sore throat for past month or so. had a cold in the beginning and since then it got better after 3 or 4 days of fatigue etc. then now its sore throat and cough up white stuff. I have autoimmune condition though

I realized it was something different than normal sickness when I was doing easy cardio that i am use to and my heart rate was jacked and my breathing was difficult. Also noticed the sickness would come in waves. Every day I wake up feeling better but at the end of the day feel worse than I had so far.

I got ridiculously sick with the flu on the 1st of January. Literally, the first night of the new year I came down with an intense fever and headache. I thought I would get over it in a couple days, but by day 5 I was in Urgent Care for a double case of “the flu” (never actually tested) and strep throat (confirmed). I spent 9 days in bed tossing and turning, with hefty fevers that drenched my clothes, towels, and my bedsheets. Fits of coughing and gagging, eventually vomiting. If I was shitting, it was diarrhea. I had no appetite and couldn’t eat; turned out I didn’t have any stomach culture left so I had to take probiotics to bring my appetite back. I went to Urgent Care twice because I was allergic to my strep AB. I was weak after that for 2 whole weeks.

I’m starting to wonder if all that could be related to this virus. Not likely, but ironic for sure.

Can confirm OP I got sick at the very beginning of the year and even took sick leave.

Yes. I got sick in early January and it lasted about two weeks. The first week was awful - easily the worst "cold" I've ever had in my life. Terrible sore throat, cough, fatigue, etc. I absolutely believe it could have been Coronavirus.

No it's just your crohn's acting up, Moshe.

yeah. headaches right?

I was sick in December and it was something stronger then regular flu which is surprised me. I had trouble in breathing, anyway i smoke so i didn't pay attention to that. Lasts about two weeks

>itt anons talk about having the flu during peak flu season.

My whole family got it. One of them was hospitalized, older family member had a serious cough. I had a cough that was as severe as when I had whooping cough. Still can't draw a deep breath without discomfort. They said it was a "rhinovirus".

once again tested negative for flu. Told it might be RSV.

Yep... I had a really bad chest cough back in early January that lasted for a few weeks along with really high fevers persisting for 3+ days.

Shit I did have one of those OP, it's something that me and my flat mates have discussed, one of us even got pneumonia from it. I don't think it was covid-19 though, I didn't have a fever nor was I nauseous, but I suppose that it's a possibility. Perhaps that is why so many officials in the government are having such a lax approach to this problem, it's already gotten around for a month or two.

I literally had this exact thing. It was around January 6th-7th. Worst cold I ever had.

maybe. Let the it come through first then come out after the worst of it is over proving your plans to stop it were right and we are safe. I wonder what the flu deaths were this year in comparison to last year. Obviously they would push those who did die as just having the flu.

Was sick myself in January. High fever, headaches, sore muscles and joints. Sucked, lasted probably 10 days or so.

I work in china town in nyc and got really sick my whole office got hit. Some of my coworkers still cough

Inflouisiana

Yes my whole family had it. I even said to them that I think that what they had. I didn't get sick.

i have this now. been takin temp for a week, its perfectly normal. more like come and go heavy sinus/light cold symptoms. slight short of breath but im congested af

Early to mid January, after some travel, slight fever, conjunctivitis for a day, some minor headaches, and a coof that still hasn't gone away.

This thing had been out since at least October. I'm wondering if the bigger issue is that it infects, gives slight symptoms, goes dormant, and then returns orders of magnitude more powerful

Yes. It was the worst respiratory illness I remember having.

Happened to me, my mom, my brother, his gf, my grandparents in early January.

Never been that ill before.

The panic is a way bigger problem than the virus, in my opinion. This stems entirely from innumeracy, I suspect. No one can comprehend 10 thousand vs 10 million vs 10 billion vs 1.5 trillion. It's just not in them. You look at the graphs, and a lot of the original countries are already flat or trending down. It's almost entirely weak people dying from this, just like a flu or anything else. Yes it's a little higher, but I'm convinced I've already been exposed to it and I'm immune. And maybe you have as well.

i exercise for like an hour everyday and haven't been sick in years. how many of you are fat?

anyone remember the rash of "vaping illnesses"?

Furthermore, I think what we are really experience is a coordinated propaganda effort for reasons I don't fully understand.

Yeah, actually. In fact, I still have a feeling in my throat, you know how when you breath its like a chill runs down the back of your throat? That one? I still have that. No cough, no fever, no headaches. Just that weird feeling constantly

This thread is interesting.
My mother got really sick around that time and especially it was respiratory more than I've seen her with flu before.
She had visited China in November and told me a story before all this even came out about a bus load of tourists who came down with flu like symptoms, the bus she says was particularly air conditioned.
By the way I'm no larper I dont post on Yas Forums often I usually just lurk so this info is no bullshit. The exact subject of this thread is what's been on my mind lately in fact.

I had the worst and longest flu of my life over christmas up to new years

The guest on the last JRE podcast was saying that we had had a really bad flu season. Hm, maybe you're right about this.

Man I had the worst cold in the new year, a guy was talking on here about coughing up little white pellets. Worst bit was I was looking after somebody’s dog so I had to take it out on the beach/ in the wind so having the responsibility of her kept me going otherwise I’d of probably been bed ridden for over a week. Felt like a zombie walking but yea I was telling people that was the worst flu I’d ever had, luckily I coughed up about a litre of flem which was in there.

Some bigshot at Cleveland Clinic died suddenly a few weeks ago from the flu...was late 50s or something
