Hello Yas Forums, I've got some downtime over the next few hours so I thought I'd treat you.
I'm a member of a team which is one of many around the world coordinated by an organisation which will one day replace the UN. We're working to isolate some particularly nasty mutations of "the" corona virus.
No doubt you've noticed our African division's work so far. Ironically our success is mainly because of the local governments' incompetence. We've had relatively few interruptions from the authorities.
If you're wondering how we're able to catch these mutations before they spread: that's the interesting part. Our organisation's being sent instructions from (allegedly) a version of itself in the future. There's some doubt about the source's true identity as you can imagine but the information's pretty much always spot on, so we don't worry too much.
Obviously I can't offer any proof for security reasons but pic related should confirm my location at least. AMA

More infectious (mainly) and more deadly variants. One sample from Nigeria had (on paper) an R0 of 7.1.
We just finished isolating our second patient but we won't know exactly what either of them have for about a week. Interestingly neither has particularly symptoms yet.

So they know for example that person XYZ will get this mutated form of the virus, thus, prevent him from spreading it by containing him/her, etc. That level of specificity, or is it more like a certain area or region which youre told to contain? So, how specific or vague is the recommendation. Also, when you do capture this mutation somehow or interact with the people/region its in, do you "feel" different? How do you feel? Can you compare that feeling to anything else in your everyday life, like, say, just waking up, remembering a good time, or dejavu? I want to understand if its quantum or psychic, you can do something similar with waves, bc everything is waves and you have a good antenna on your head believe it or not. I don't know if I believe it's actually coming from the future myself but the alternatives I can think of are even more ridiculous. Curiosity isn't exactly encouraged. Anti-virals. We're using chloroquine and lopinavir mainly because they're very easy to source locally. Neither of our patients have developed pneumonia (yet). Well there's a bunch of teams in Italy but I'm not. They've been pulling 48 hours shifts AFAIK but none of the cases they've isolated were as bad as the Nigerian sample. I mean it will help but really the only sure-fire way to avoid it is to isolate yourself. I don't think you need to though, chances are if you get it you'll be fine
