Just a decade ago, sites like Yas Forums were 99.99% progressive left. You couldn't say a single thing on there about Republicans or conservatives without being destroyed by an angry mob. But now people are looking to Yas Forums as being this alt right "bully" site. The whole site drives on being contrarian. And the left became the establishment. So of course they're going to shift right. Not because they are a bunch of right wing people, but because they want to mock the establishment. If the right starts becoming popular again, all these people will go back to supporting the left and making anti right memes.

2003 oldfag here, Yas Forums has always been chaos. The only difference between then and now is that Yas Forums was largely libertarian and hated both parties. Republicans were seen as idiots because of Bush, and Democrats were seen as pussies.
Most memes from back in the early 2000s were shock-value memes or things that were just absurdist. Like ironic Nazi posting, Lemon party, making swastikas in Habbo Hotel, Nevada-Tan, etc.
